Friday, January 12, 2007 (1/12/2007 08:29:00 AM) - Robert R. A Pittsburgh newspaper speculates that the Pirates could have interest in Geoff Jenkins. Of course it's merely speculation and I think the idea that the Brewers are going to kick in money and basically ask for nothing in return is mistaken. In this market, Jenkins isn't overpaid. I doubt the Pirates would offer Mike Gonzalez for Jenkins (or Mench), at least without the Brewers kicking in something from their farm system, but the Pirates have a number of bullpen arms that would be helpful. Pittsburgh and San Diego look like the best potential fits for clearing up the outfield logjam. 1/12/2007 08:29:00 AM |
