Saturday, April 26, 2008 (4/26/2008 07:42:00 PM) - Al Just so everyone is aware, if you have Charter and are not able to see the game tonight, you are the only ones. Every other cable system in the state has it on (outside Milwaukee, of course, where the game is not supposed to be on WMLW), all satellite providers have it on, and so forth. I have spoken with 3 people from Charter, and the first 2 may have well have been my dog with the ability to use a search function. I'm call them sniveling idiots, but I would not want to offend sniveling idiots. The first explained to me that this was a MLB Extra Innings blackout issue, even though it is totally unrelated to: 1. MLB 2. Extra Innings 3. a "blackout" situation I told her she was full of it (this was all on the chat room in their "chat with a technician" area, and asked for a supervisor. she told me to call their general help line, which I did. I then asked the fella to go right to a supervisor, because I knew the odds of him helping me was about the same as me splitting an atom. He insisted I give him my name and phone number, then a short description of my problem. Ignoring common sense and the like, he then told me there was nothing they could do, all they were doing was sending out the feed that FSN was sending to them. I paused, considering for a moment just hanging up and seeing if I could set up a Direct TV installation for sometime next week. I then informed him of "double feeds", how FSN had to send out one thing for the Milwaukee area and another for the rest of the state, and every other cable provider in the state had the game on and they did not, and that if he did not understand the issue, he should just have sent me to the supervisor like I originally asked. Properly defeated in his cable TV knowledge by a guy who still doesn't understand how a fax machine works, he said he would pass me along to the first supervisor who became available. Antonio was the only person who acted as if he had not just finished watching a "just speak in gibberish until the customer hangs up" training tape. He verified that I was supposed to have the game on, but said he was unable to do anything about it, other than "send a form to dispatch". He apologized several times, but kept saying he was all but helpless, other than sending this supposed form. Oof. 4/26/2008 07:42:00 PM |
