And yes, I find it funny that Gary Sheffield is an agent. I assume he just hires a lawyer to do the legal stuff, which for the life of me, I don't understand why players don't just do, unless they really want to do a ton of endorsements and the like (and honestly, why bother, when you're making seven figures). Why give someone 5-10% when you have eight teams fighting for you?
Of course, I might well take less money for a better opportunity, which I've done twice in my life (that said, looking at my business savvy, maybe I need an agent).
Sadly, unless Jason signs a one year contract hoping he gets to close, it seems almost certain someone will go three years and/or $5-6M per, and that's not going to be Doug.
