Finally, I can see again! Funny how you can't see to read, but can see fine to drive and watch TV when they dilate your eyes.
First time getting eyes checked in a few years, had to go because the Rambling wife's vision benefits go by calendar year, use them or lose them. Both eyes have improved a bit, and I can still see good to read. Got all nine right in the depth perception test, apparently, that's quite rare.
Ever since I was a little boy, I have "failed" the glaucoma test, the one with the annoying puff of air into your eye, but then they look at my eye and pronounce me fine. This time, I chatted with the eye doc about it, she says "normal" is 10-20, and I was a 28. She says it used to be 30+ they would automatically give you drops, but they've changed over the years. She says just to check it every year, and they'll note the difference...she says I, like many people, have probably always had over 20, and for whatever reason, that's just the way it is. Does make us more susceptible later in life however. Very nice gal, as is almost every optometrist I've ever been to. Why can't dentists and hygienists be like this?
{Footnote, although I'm sure she doesn't read this, my current dentist is incredibly nice, though the hygienist is, like all of them, very preachy.}
I took one look at the frames available and said I'd just come back later, as they all looked the same to me. The Rambling wife picked out a couple and I picked the one that felt more comfortable.
