(8/18/2017 01:49:00 PM) - Al

The irony here is, this is a surprise to many people.

If you have ever noticed, unless the dictator had secret police which kidnapped people in the night never to be heard from again, countries cherish their history.

You'll note, this is why one party is so intent on erasing and rewriting theirs. I'm glad they aren't on my side.

8/18/2017 01:49:00 PM

(8/18/2017 01:30:00 PM) - Al

I realize this is on the team site, so positivity is a prerequisite, but the Crew is far more likely to have a 2-7 road trip than a 7-2 one.

Never mind the Rockies have the biggest home field advantage in sports and the Dodgers are the best team since the 90something Mariners, traveling west is always difficult due to time zones and the like.

8/18/2017 01:30:00 PM

(8/18/2017 01:06:00 PM) - Al

Lefty says free speech only applies to things he agrees with.

And yes, he is too shortsighted to understand what could possibly be wrong with that. Whenever their first idea is to ignore the Constitution, they have a bad idea.

8/18/2017 01:06:00 PM

(8/18/2017 12:56:00 PM) - Al

Just got home from lunch with the Rambling family, as they are off to the inlaw's vacation compound in NW WI for a long weekend. I decided to take a cheat day since I made it back down to my previous low.

For those of you that don't know, cheat day is just about the greatest day ever. You just eat normally...you know, like 95% of people do every single day of their lives.

The only way today could be any better was if Hillary was not president...never mind.

8/18/2017 12:56:00 PM

(8/18/2017 11:00:00 AM) - Al

The truth is, if she was a Republican, this would be serious.

8/18/2017 11:00:00 AM

(8/18/2017 10:00:00 AM) - Al

Well, to be fair, he's right.

8/18/2017 10:00:00 AM

(8/18/2017 09:00:00 AM) - Al

The facts are painful.

Luckily, they are ignored, because shut up.

8/18/2017 09:00:00 AM

(8/18/2017 06:00:00 AM) - Al

The Dems fought the Civil Rights Act every second because they needed votes from the South.

Now that Southerners have abandoned the party, they are incredibly quick to forget this nugget of fact. No group is more mocked and despised now...because they vote Republican. As Toby Keith has said often, he never left the Dems, the Dems left him.

They are now just as centered on the pro abortion, illegal immigration, and LGBGT groups. Don't think for a second they won't be left behind as well.

8/18/2017 06:00:00 AM

(8/18/2017 03:00:00 AM) - Al

Consistency is not a hallmark of the left.

When you change your mind with the breeze, you learn to be rather open minded about things.

8/18/2017 03:00:00 AM

(8/18/2017 01:30:00 AM) - Al

I told you so.

(8/17/2017 10:30:00 PM) - Al

I'm so old, I remember when something like this would be roundly condemned by both sides immediately.

That sound you hear from the left? Hypocrisy.

Because shut up.

8/17/2017 10:30:00 PM

(8/17/2017 09:41:00 PM) - Al

Word is the Brewers continue to try and work out a Granderson swap.

8/17/2017 09:41:00 PM

(8/17/2017 08:30:00 PM) - Al

Scott Adams is doing some really, really good work.

His description of mass hysteria is near perfect. The complete realization that folks had/are having that they had completely misread the situation is obvious to most of us, who were surprised, but looked at the facts, and the exit polls, and understood what had happened. Others...did not.

They began blaming racism (my personal favorite, as the ignorance that a white man defeating the same white woman a black man had defeated was racist remains the epitome of stupidity), every other ism under the sun, and most of all, started saying how stupid everyone was other than themselves.

8/17/2017 08:30:00 PM

(8/17/2017 07:00:00 PM) - Al

Reports have Corbin Burnes on his way to AAA Colorado Springs. Has dominated at high A and AA. Will not be added to the 40 unless he's added to the 25 man roster, as he was just drafted last year.

8/17/2017 07:00:00 PM

(8/17/2017 02:10:00 PM) - Al

Heyman says the Mets are trying hard to unload their remaining veterans, including Granderson, and possibly Jerry Blevins.

Both would fit with the Crew's needs.

8/17/2017 02:10:00 PM

(8/17/2017 01:31:00 PM) - Al

Woodruff pitches Saturday, then Brewers won't need a 5th starter again until Sept. 2. Could option him, bring him back when rosters expand.--Adam, MLB.com

Always a way to maximize your roster. The irony is, the casuals never understand it, nor have any desire to. Susac will be optioned when Vogt returns (and may well be outrighted when Bandy is healthy).

8/17/2017 01:31:00 PM

(8/17/2017 01:11:00 PM) - Al

An army marches on its stomach.--Napoleon

ISIS is being starved out. Amazingly, what's defeating them was not folk songs or holding hands. Good old fashioned military might.

8/17/2017 01:11:00 PM

(8/17/2017 11:30:00 AM) - Al

If any of you are looking for a healthy summer snack, and I'm sure many of you have a whole bunch of zucchini either from your garden or from a friend that has a garden; slice them thin, put on any spices you enjoy (I like salt/pepper/garlic/parm cheese).

400 degrees, 15-30 minutes, depending on if you like them a bit moist like me, or really crunchy and dry, like a real potato chip.

And if you think you don't like zucchini, they basically have no flavor, especially if you bale them half an hour. They just take on the flavor of the add ons.

8/17/2017 11:30:00 AM

(8/17/2017 09:30:00 AM) - Al

The Rambling wife is going back to college online. She started last night.

1. I always wanted to say I am married to a college woman.

2. I did not expect her to be 42, however.

8/17/2017 09:30:00 AM

(8/17/2017 06:30:00 AM) - Al

Irony.

Peaceful protests are rarely peaceful.

8/17/2017 06:30:00 AM

(8/16/2017 11:00:00 PM) - Al

He's right you know.

Tomorrow it will be something else. And the answer will be redistribution of income.

8/16/2017 11:00:00 PM

(8/16/2017 08:55:00 PM) - Al

They are always very upset...when it is politically expedient. Otherwise, they continue to be a bunch of stupid hypocrites.

It's easy to change your mind when you don't really believe in anything.

8/16/2017 08:55:00 PM

(8/16/2017 08:30:00 PM) - Al

This is how they got Trump.

8/16/2017 08:30:00 PM

The negative thing about snowflakes?

They melt easily.

(8/16/2017 04:55:00 PM) - Al

Blazek clears waivers and outrighted to AAA.

As good as his numbers were outside of his bad start in DC, especially at altitude in Colorado Springs, this is a surprise to me. The Reds, for example, could certainly use him as an upgrade.

It makes you wonder too about scouts in the stands and all the taping on TV. Blazek was outstanding in his MLB relief outings, batters barely making contact, throwing hard too. He's cheap, under team control. Makes you wonder what teams want.

8/16/2017 04:55:00 PM

(8/16/2017 04:25:00 PM) - Al

I remember preschool, and this is pretty damn close.

Every day after they got us on the bus, the teachers would walk back in the school looking like they were coming home from war.

8/16/2017 04:25:00 PM

(8/16/2017 03:49:00 PM) - Al

A car guy I worked with at the pizza place 25 years ago told me synthetic oil would last twice as long as regular. By the looks of this, he was correct, as the used synthetic appears identical to the brand new.

One thing to keep in mind though, he said to still change the filter every 3K miles, even if you used synthetic.

8/16/2017 03:49:00 PM

(8/16/2017 03:00:00 PM) - Al

Heh.

Their angst only appears when it's politically prudent.

Maybe they can convince history books to list him as a Republican, as has happened with George Wallace on more than a few occasions.

8/16/2017 03:00:00 PM

(8/16/2017 02:03:00 PM) - Al

Rambling son just started mowing the lawn. Despite us having put gutters on the house in May, he has yet to remember to remove them before beginning. He always starts the mower, mows for 5 minutes, and then shuts it off when he remembers.

FYI, our sump pump has not run once since we put those up. We have tested it a couple times before heavy rains were forecast, and it seems fine. All that water that used to go straight down is now diverted. I found a site online that tells you how much water falls on an area, and I figure that when it rains an inch, we used to have about 1500 gallons the sump pump needed to get rid of.

Imagine 25 gallons of water filling your trunk...that's 60 times that.

8/16/2017 02:03:00 PM

(8/16/2017 02:00:00 PM) - Al

Vandalism and burglary is always a crime.

8/16/2017 02:00:00 PM

(8/16/2017 01:33:00 PM) - Al

Hoops Rumors lists Hawes as a candidate to be "stretched."

Hawes is a serviceable player, and I'd prefer him to Henson, but Henson's contract is a burden unless he's a starter or playing 20+ minutes as a reserve, and no team wants to take that on, apparently, as he's been readily available since last season.

If my math is right, the Bucks need a roster spot for Jason Terry too.

8/16/2017 01:33:00 PM

(8/16/2017 01:25:00 PM) - Al

Go an email from Pizza Hut today that had "study break?" in the subject line. You forget that in many parts of the country, school is already started, both K-12 and college. They might get out earlier in the spring, or just have longer/more frequent breaks. That's also why it seems like school supplies go on sale so early here.

The strange thing is, back when I was a boy, my average start date was about AUG22. We started a couple weeks earlier...but we usually went until the first few days of June. We certainly did not have long breaks...never had a fall break, just 4 days at Tgiving, and we often went on DEC23 and returned JAN2. It seems like I rarely had a full week of spring break either...often, we just had THU/FRI of one week and MON the next...we often called it Easter break. Not sure if we went more days or not.

8/16/2017 01:25:00 PM

(8/16/2017 12:57:00 PM) - Al

I think a "survival income" is far better than what we have now...which is giving the money to only the least motivated (and a small amount of the disabled). As I have pointed out a couple other times, a basic income provides people with the freedom to either work part time or use their time in other ways, studying to better themselves, or just for the enjoyment of learning.

The problem is, with our dependent and entitlement mentality, there is no way they would ever NOT give extra money to those who insisted they were worse off...which defeats the idea and morale of a basic income.

8/16/2017 12:57:00 PM

(8/16/2017 10:30:00 AM) - Al

It's about time someone said it.

It's just an egg.

8/16/2017 10:30:00 AM

(8/16/2017 09:30:00 AM) - Al

Yes, he did.

Because he was so much more intelligent than us. And the old media never batted an eye.

(8/16/2017 08:00:00 AM) - Al

I was the only one in the unit who had been to advanced blood spatter school.--detective on I Am Homicide

I was unaware there was "blood splatter school," never mind basic and advanced classes.

8/16/2017 08:00:00 AM

(8/16/2017 06:30:00 AM) - Al

The left keeps complaining about everything except the fact they are driving their voters out in droves.

What's that wise man say often? They vote with their feet. IL is broke, driving businesses and individuals to WI by raising taxes and fees while removing services...of course, they never saw it coming. Those rubes are too stupid to even notice...hey, where are they going?

Meanwhile, WI is happy to accept them, being in its fiscally sound position because of fiscally responsible policies enacted by a fiscally responsible governor.

Who could have seen that coming? If only we would have paid certain folks more because they have to pay union dues because they have to funnel it back to the Dems...how's that working out?

8/16/2017 06:30:00 AM

(8/16/2017 03:00:00 AM) - Al

Palin called them "death panels."

If the old media is allowed to make this seem like a well thought out decision, do not be at all surprised when the elderly and other "imperfect" folks are argued to be less than human too.

8/16/2017 03:00:00 AM

(8/16/2017 01:30:00 AM) - Al

This is also why they give a pass to violent protesters, as long as they are left of center.

They have been fake news for a decade or more. It's just no one pointed it out until Trump.

8/16/2017 01:30:00 AM

(8/16/2017 12:30:00 AM) - Al

Things I learned while looking for other things:

In the USA, we spell a bin or building to hold grain a "granary."

In England, they call it a "grainary."

I think the UK is smarter than we are.

Managing is a lot easier when your staff gives up 1 run.

Swarzak told everyone he was ready to go, but was not used. Counsell might be wanting to give him until FRI if possible.

Gallo now has 7 450-footers. Most in MLB. Weakling Stanton is second with 6. Nobody else has more than 3. Via Statcast.--Evan Grant

Many casuals insisted Gallo was terrible last summer and they did not want him, when in reality, it is not a coincidence the Rangers never made him available.

The #1 sign of casuals is they ignore a player's age when evaluating them. They will say a 27 year old at AA is great and a 22 year old at AAA has no future. You can't fix stupid.

(8/15/2017 04:25:00 PM) - Al

If you look the other way when thugs vandalize or destroy statues they do not like, it's only a matter of time until thugs are burning down buildings or killing people and using the same excuse.

Some are too caught up in the emotion of the moment to look at the big picture. That's why we have a Constitution.

That's why they're thugs and vandals, not heroes.

8/15/2017 04:25:00 PM

(8/15/2017 04:00:00 PM) - Al

Brewers have 3 in the top 36 in lowest hard hit rate for pitchers.

That's very impressive.

It also gives those wondering if they will pick up the $5M option next season for Garza a quick answer. He's been unlucky, though he does not pitch out of the stretch very well, and he has his quirks, though they rarely hurt him like you would think they would.

But at $5M, he's a bargain if he gives a team 75-100 average innings.

Anthony Swarzak says his neck is feeling better and he's good to go. Victim of some unkind hotel pillows on the last road trip.--JS

Mets sent MIL $1.7M in the Walker trade, Crew will pay Walker $3M for the rest of the season. I would say the Mets probably would have received a couple "true"  prospects for Walker had they covered his entire $4.7M salary.

By only sending about a third, I would guess they mostly made a monetary move, and will receive only one fringe prospect.

8/15/2017 02:41:00 PM

(8/15/2017 02:00:00 PM) - Al

It's just math.

Shifts work, or the Crew would not use them.

(8/15/2017 01:35:00 PM) - Al

I have a pretty good guess...because they taste good and while it's tough for many people to eat 1000 calories of meat, almost anyone can eat 1000 calories of Chips Ahoys or Oreos and still eat 3 meals in a day.

8/15/2017 01:35:00 PM

(8/15/2017 01:16:00 PM) - Al

Brilliant idea. However, I fail to see the math working, selling a monthly subscription for the price of a single movie ticket.

Brinson left the game yesterday with a non contact leg injury, you can see the video here.

Hopefully, he will be able to return in a couple weeks when the rosters expand. No reports yet today, as he was to undergo "tests," which is likely an MRI.

(8/15/2017 12:54:00 PM) - Al

Hanson sums up what I have been saying for 9 months now.

Trump's approval is what it was or higher than when he won the election. Given the way polling is done, it's probably well higher than being reported.

The economy is booming, and while most of it is psychological, wait until the changes kick in.

Immigration is way down, and the laws are being enforced.

The victories are not reported, but they are many and huge. North Korea all but cried and bowed out of fear (it reminded myself of Obama foreign policy, but hence, I digress) to the USA's tough talk.

If this would have happened a year ago, it would be hailed as a Cuba missile crisis like win (much like the Iranian "deal" which was worthless and gave the USA nothing); while today, it is being mentioned in passing.

Read the whole thing. Those that read the tea leaves incorrectly last NOV are doing so again. The funny thing, they have doubled down on their volume, as they know they get more attention if they are loud.

That doesn't make them right.

8/15/2017 12:54:00 PM

(8/15/2017 12:38:00 PM) - Al

The irony?

Not only did he say nothing evil, most agree the gist of what he said was 100% true. Still, because it wasn't PC, it was roundly attacked by the old media, who have learned nothing.

This is how we got Trump.

8/15/2017 12:38:00 PM

(8/15/2017 12:36:00 PM) - Al

It's not the death of movies. However, it is an illness that could have been easily avoided.

(8/15/2017 12:30:00 PM) - Al

Very well said. Both these groups that were in VA were ignorant attention whores. Their only difference? They are on opposite sides of the idiot spectrum.

8/15/2017 12:30:00 PM

(8/15/2017 11:00:00 AM) - Al

Personally, I'm glad we don't have a president that jumps to stupid ("the police acted stupidly) conclusions.

As Glenn has pointed out, when they call him Hitler, they're never going to like anything he does. If he cured cancer tomorrow, the old media would run a defense of malignant tumors by the weekend and call anyone that disagreed "idiot science deniers."

Luckily, he doesn't need their votes. You can win a lot of elections by making conservatives and independents happy...that's how he won last time, actually.

8/15/2017 11:00:00 AM

(8/15/2017 10:00:00 AM) - Al

Got an email yesterday asking about SEP callups. After thinking how early it was, I realized today is the 15th.

First of all, many of the guys on the DL will be back by then...Vogt is probable, as is Anderson, and Suter (I have my doubts if Brent is suffering from anymore than a tired arm). Assume the players they replace will be back, so that would be 3 (or 28).

close to Definite
Phillips
Brinson
Bandy/Susac  (assuming Vogt is the backup by then, not sure how long Bandy is out)
a pitcher or two (Jungmann, Espino, Webb, and Wang are the favorites on the 40, though others can be added...all fit the criteria of either specialists or innings eaters)

Maybe
Rivera

Longshots, but fun to talk about
Dubon (has to be added to the 40 this offseason, I would expect him to be limited to PR duties)
Wren (also have to be added to the 40, but a prototypical PR/5th OF type...could be added in place of Phillips or Brinson if they are worried about their service time)

8/15/2017 10:00:00 AM

Surprised the Bucks did not garner a Xmas Day spot. I thought last year would be the last we did not see them on the marquee day for 2-3 years (and hopefully longer).

Another article. Jim says the Bucks were -2 on FTE last year, and +4 this season, which, in theory, should lead to a couple more W's.

(8/14/2017 06:00:00 PM) - Al

Many could learn a lot from this gal.

Instead of bitching about being "too harsh" one minute and "not harsh enough" the next, say thank you, shut up, and move on.

Scott Adams is one of those who has been right so often in the last year, you have to be an idiot to disagree with him until he's wrong a couple times.

1. Challenging him is a fool's errand...of course, that's what the Ivy League is for.

2. The irony is, all the people that disagreed with him are still smarmy know it alls who were wrong then and continue to double down insisting they're always right.

I'm not buying what they're sellin'.

8/14/2017 05:55:00 PM

(8/14/2017 04:30:00 PM) - Al

Of course, this is why most of the public doesn't pay attention to the old media.

(8/13/2017 08:30:00 PM) - Al

Yesterday, a wise man said the old media and libs would criticize the GOP no matter they said.

The Times proved it.

8/13/2017 08:30:00 PM

(8/13/2017 07:51:00 PM) - Al

Blazek would have been out of options next season, so that likely played a part in his DFA today.

No use keeping him and then lose him if he had to be sent to the minors. As Stearns said earlier this year, every time they have to make a 40 man move, it hurts. That's a downside of having a good system.

8/13/2017 07:51:00 PM

(8/13/2017 06:55:00 PM) - Al

Amen.

In all those years of Poli Sci, I think I had one professor who I would not bet my life was a liberal. I would guess he was, but hid it nicely.

Not a coincidence he was also by far the best POLS professor I had.

8/13/2017 06:55:00 PM

(8/13/2017 06:46:00 PM) - Al

Counsell said Swarzak has neck stiffness.

I have no idea if that's true or not, but if he had a bad arm or a bad knee, they might well not want to disclose that, and might come up with some generic thing like "neck stiffness."

8/13/2017 06:46:00 PM

(8/13/2017 04:05:00 PM) - Al

Chase Anderson with another rehab outing, 4+ innings, 4 runs, 67 pitches at altitude.

8/13/2017 04:05:00 PM

(8/13/2017 04:03:00 PM) - Al

No sign of Swarzak last night or today, have to wonder about his health.

8/13/2017 04:03:00 PM

(8/13/2017 03:36:00 PM) - Al

Brinson has hit 3 homers in his last 3 at bats.

Keon should rent, not buy.

I think we'll hear lots of mentions this winter about Santana and Broxton, as many teams crave RH power. I've been predicting a Santana/SP for a high priced, top of the rotation SP since last year.

8/13/2017 03:36:00 PM

(8/13/2017 03:26:00 PM) - Al

I think it's more what Glenn points out. No one even pretends energy drinks taste good, so it's mainly just a mild, legal upper.

I've never understood why anyone drinks a crappy $3 beverage when they can just take 10 cents of caffeine in tablet form.

I'm sol old, I recall working at the pizza place until 4AM and being a bit tired at 1 and buying a 2 pack of ephedrine, which most convenience stores politely had right at the counter for like 79 cents. It took care of your runny nose and woke you up. Now, you gotta show your driver's license and sign over your first born and your car registration to pick it up at your local pharmacy.

8/13/2017 03:26:00 PM

(8/13/2017 01:25:00 PM) - Al

Kind of a softball feel to the game today...

Neil, you play 3B?

Not for years.

Starting there today.

K.

8/13/2017 01:25:00 PM

(8/13/2017 01:23:00 PM) - Al

Simon is very accurate here...they are a rounding error of a rounding error at this point.

As a wide man said yesterday, pretending a couple dozen yahoos are worthy of old media coverage is a bad, dangerous call.

8/13/2017 01:23:00 PM

(8/13/2017 12:22:00 PM) - Al

Crew will skip Woodruff, go with Davies TUE and Nelson WED.

I would assume Brandon would be available out of the bullpen, maybe as early as today.

8/13/2017 12:22:00 PM

(8/13/2017 11:10:00 AM) - Al

Brent S to the DL, Blazek DFA'd.

Far more surprised about Mike, as he has been excellent in AAA and solid in the majors, except for his poor start. I would expect him to be claimed or traded.

8/13/2017 11:10:00 AM

(8/13/2017 11:03:00 AM) - Al

Will not be Eric going down, as he is at SS with Walker at 3B today. Looks like a pitcher.

8/13/2017 11:03:00 AM

(8/13/2017 05:30:00 AM) - Al

A wise man pointed this out earlier today.

Covering a few goofballs who are spending time in the big city for the first time causes far more trouble than it's worth. Cameras are like magnets for loons. More than a few KKK marches have stopped within minutes because no one was watching.

8/13/2017 05:30:00 AM

Saturday, August 12, 2017

(8/12/2017 11:32:00 PM) - Al

Stearns points out Walker can play 1B and 3B too. He has played both, but Villar has played more OF/SS/3B than either of Walker's other spots.

8/12/2017 11:32:00 PM

(8/12/2017 10:44:00 PM) - Al

Heh.

They will fit the narrative to the crime. They are waiting to see if Fields was there for the white supremacist rally or not. If not, and he turns out to be a socialist like the DC shooter, the "outrage" will change quickly to "mental health concerns."

8/12/2017 10:44:00 PM

(8/12/2017 10:28:00 PM) - Al

Walker to MIL is official, Walker and cash for a PTBNL is the version announced.

(8/12/2017 10:18:00 PM) - Al

Bryce Harper may have seriously injured his knee on a close play at 1B.

Plenty of corner OF's on the market, but they ain't Harper.

8/12/2017 10:18:00 PM

(8/12/2017 10:06:00 PM) - Al

Crew has a day off MON and one THU, giving them the option of sending a SP down, as they will not need a 5th SP until TUE22. That may well be the 25 man move they make, Suter has, of course, used his option for this season on numerous occasions.

Heck, Anderson could pitch on that TUE, if they keep his 3rd rehab outing brief.

May be trickier getting Walker a 40 man spot.

8/12/2017 10:06:00 PM

(8/12/2017 09:01:00 PM) - Al

Mets paying part of Walker's $5M he is owed the rest of the season.

Buying a prospect, so to speak.

(8/12/2017 06:48:00 PM) - Al

Reports are the Crew have acquired Neil Walker from the Mets.

Strange timing, with Villar getting hot, although because of paperwork, it probably took 24-48 hours to become official.

Of course, we kind of forget Villar can play other spots than 2B. I would assume Walker would take Sogard's 25 man spot, assuming a prospect was dealt. If a player not on the 40 was dealt, they'll have to open up a spot on their as well.

The slight irony about the 40 man is that Susac might be one of the lowest on that totem pole, but, of course, he is in MIL and will be the backup C for another week or so. Yadi Rivera and Paolo Espino would be my guess for lowest man on the 40, though you could make an argument for others. I believe they have to place Walker on the 40 as soon as the trade is made, but not the 25 until he reports, which given the off day MON, may well be TUE.

EDIT: NY Post reporting it is a PTBNL for Walker. That could be anyone not on the 25 man.

It could even be a player on the 40 that has been or may be claimed on waivers...this way, they can wait until after the season to make the swap.

8/12/2017 06:48:00 PM

(8/12/2017 05:30:00 PM) - Al

Notice how there are no riots or idiots blocking traffic about this

Those folks only care about criminals, not law enforcement. I'm glad they are not on my side.

Because shut up.

8/12/2017 05:30:00 PM

(8/12/2017 03:58:00 PM) - Al

The one thing that is rather apparent today? A few days ago, Trump was "Too mean" but today, he was "not mean enough."

What does that mean? Some people are hypocrites, and will never be happy. The hell with them.

It's almost as if they change their mind often because they don't really believe in anything. Keep kicking that can down the road, eventually, someone will clean up your mess.

8/12/2017 03:58:00 PM

(8/12/2017 03:20:00 PM) - Al

If I didn't know better, I think this is what they call "building a coalition."

We haven't seen much of it for a while, since all we did was cower and apologize.

8/12/2017 03:20:00 PM

(8/12/2017 02:30:00 PM) - Al

Heh.

No, they're the party of peace. And constant complaining.

8/12/2017 02:30:00 PM

(8/12/2017 01:23:00 PM) - Al

Only the old media could make a couple dozen white supremacists in Virginia into a national issue. Press coverage is the only reason they are there. If TV and internet would not give them the attention they crave, they would have already packed up and driven home.

The odd thing is, no matter how hard they try, those of us who know our history know the KKK's very tight relationship with the Dem party and their leadership...even though Al Gore ran for president and the fact his dad was a leader of both was hidden.

You'd rewrite history too if it was that damaging.

8/12/2017 01:23:00 PM

(8/12/2017 12:30:00 PM) - Al

I'm so glad he's not on my side.

8/12/2017 12:30:00 PM

(8/12/2017 09:30:00 AM) - Al

I have pointed this out before, but it remains true.

The public feels the direction of the US has been turned around, but since there's a segment that refuses to admit they "support" Trump, his numbers are artificially low.

Take Trump's name off the question, however, and they happily admit it. I've said it a few times, but if Trump won in 2016 with a 38% approval rating, be wary of him at 45%.

8/12/2017 09:30:00 AM

(8/12/2017 06:30:00 AM) - Al

Probably just as good as the day it was made.

Course, that ain't saying much.

8/12/2017 06:30:00 AM

(8/12/2017 03:30:00 AM) - Al

Nonsense.

I have been assured voter fraud is a myth, so this is obviously a dream.

8/12/2017 03:30:00 AM

(8/12/2017 01:00:00 AM) - Al

Amen.

Just because you are easily offended does not make your opinions more meaningful. Politics is tough, get used to it.

When your best argument against someone is "He's terrible and his supporters are deplorable," you are bound to lose.

(8/11/2017 10:30:00 PM) - Al

Intelligent, well thought out thread of tweets from a strong, lovely, conservative woman.

As she points out, the main difference now from previous threats:

1. The old media is reporting it like a threat, and not as a goofball loser.

2. The president actually will do something militarily other than send cash and set an imaginary line he will not enforce.

8/11/2017 10:30:00 PM

(8/11/2017 09:12:00 PM) - Al

I have two thoughts:

1. This is exactly the type of thing you'd expect from a dumb guy who doesn't plan.

2. It'll be funny to see the Dems vote against Manchin.

8/11/2017 09:12:00 PM

(8/11/2017 09:00:00 PM) - Al

As a wise man often says, it's easy to change your mind when you don't really believe in anything.

Kind of reminds me of:

1. It's impossible to fix an American election. Trump needs to stop whining.

2. Russia! Russia! Russia! We don't need proof.

8/11/2017 09:00:00 PM

(8/11/2017 07:54:00 PM) - Al

Conservative women get ripped on for being conservative.

If only they would walk through the streets cursing and littering, the old media would hail them as modern day heroes.

8/11/2017 07:54:00 PM

(8/11/2017 06:30:00 PM) - Al

Well, to be fair, that is an effective way to shed a few pounds.

8/11/2017 06:30:00 PM

(8/11/2017 06:05:00 PM) - Al

Hey man says the Crew did not get the waiver claim on Kinsler.

8/11/2017 06:05:00 PM

(8/11/2017 04:00:00 PM) - Al

The left's giddiness over the fact a popular celebrity might run because he'd be easily defeated...be careful what you wish for.

8/11/2017 04:00:00 PM

(8/11/2017 03:30:00 PM) - Al

It's funny because it's 100% true.

8/11/2017 03:30:00 PM

(8/11/2017 03:27:00 PM) - Al

But, I've been assured no one likes him.

The fundraising is through the roof at the national level too.

The sudden downfall of the GOP seems just a tad exaggerated.

8/11/2017 03:27:00 PM

(8/11/2017 03:20:00 PM) - Al

I can't believe he made it past the Cardinals, who would have been able to effectively block him from MIL.

{Assuming records go in the order when placed on waivers.}

8/11/2017 03:20:00 PM

(8/11/2017 03:16:00 PM) - Al

I had an update show up on my phone, and wanting to ensure it wasn't some sort of virus, I decided to ask the Rambling son.

Al--(yelling downstairs) Rambling son!

RS--OK.

Al--(puzzled at answer) Rambling son, can you come to the stairs?

RS--(while walking toward me) Oh, I just assumed you were going to tell me you were going to take a nap, so I answered you.

I think I'm getting a bit too predictable.

8/11/2017 03:16:00 PM

(8/11/2017 03:08:00 PM) - Al

They never stop to think that if it's OK to do this now, it'll be OK to do it when a Dem is in office.

Remember Hank Reid changing the rules to 51? Never considered for a second they would ever lose. They are as shortsighted as they are fiscally irresponsible.

8/11/2017 03:08:00 PM

(8/11/2017 02:11:00 PM) - Al

Phillips also has a full no trade, and is being paid almost entirely by the Reds.

8/11/2017 02:11:00 PM

(8/11/2017 01:16:00 PM) - Al

Kicking the can down the road got us where we are now.

Too bad we didn't have someone with the foresight to take care of this 20 years ago.

This is the type of stuff that got overlooked when they were spending all their time lying about Benghazi. And the old media helped them cover it up.

8/11/2017 01:16:00 PM

(8/11/2017 01:05:00 PM) - Al

Let's be honest, as I said the other day, North Korea will cease to exist should they decide to be the aggressor. It would not even be nuclear on the US side...imagine what one "mother of all bombs" would do to the palace area.

As Mattis said about another conflict, they'll be talking about it for thousands of years.

8/11/2017 01:05:00 PM

(8/11/2017 12:31:00 PM) - Al

When the Brewers have claimed players, clubs ahead of them in the waiver pecking order have either beaten them to the punch or the players’ teams pulled them back.--Adam, MLB.com, via MLBTR

Stearns hinted that he has claimed many players. The strange thing to me is there is an obvious impasse with the Mets, as MIL talked to them about Granderson before the deadline and he made it through waivers. A  month and a half of him is worth very little in terms of prospects, but there must be a difference of opinion in just how minimal.

8/11/2017 12:31:00 PM

(8/11/2017 09:30:00 AM) - Al

Well, to be fair, maybe let the ones go that you know are headed toward AP offices.

Possibly, the stupidest article ever written by the old media.

8/11/2017 09:30:00 AM

(8/11/2017 08:00:00 AM) - Al

Fitting.

I saw a Facebook friend, a loyal Dem, one who goes to state conventions just to meet candidates and take part in the platform voting, comment a couple days ago, "I am beginning to wonder why nothing on Russia has come out at all. If nothing is there and the fact is, it was all made up as an excuse, I'm afraid it will be the straw that fractured the proverbial camel's back."

8/11/2017 08:00:00 AM

(8/11/2017 06:00:00 AM) - Al

This is what the left concerns itself with while the right is out putting together packages to bring more employment to their area.

8/11/2017 06:00:00 AM

(8/11/2017 03:30:00 AM) - Al

Great to see. Keep it up.

The map is as red as it is because the left will not shout down these shortsighted dopes.

That's a shame.

8/11/2017 03:30:00 AM

(8/11/2017 01:30:00 AM) - Al

Heh.

(8/10/2017 11:25:00 PM) - Al

Reports are Garza and Braun led a player's meeting after the game, they publicly would only say "having fun and playing with energy" was discussed.

I played a lot of softball back in the day, and played on a lot of bad teams. Never did we have a problem with "fun" or "energy," though we often had a problem with "talent." Several teams had me as the 3rd or 4th best player...and the results showed it.

One of the best Bill S quotes over the years was very simple, "If you're not scoring runs, they always say you look flat. It's tough to look good jogging back to the dugout."

The truth is, if it worked, they'd have one after every loss.

8/10/2017 11:25:00 PM

(8/10/2017 11:00:00 PM) - Al

Neville Chamberlain is their role model.

We will not know the damage they've caused for a generation.

How did we get in this predicament? It's a mystery that may never be solved.

8/10/2017 11:00:00 PM

(8/10/2017 09:30:00 PM) - Al

Well, to be fair, I don't read it either.

Because it's a biased piece of crap.

8/10/2017 09:30:00 PM

(8/10/2017 08:34:00 PM) - Al

6?

I suppose that's not bad for an amateur.

8/10/2017 08:34:00 PM

(8/10/2017 08:01:00 PM) - Al

Many liberals on Twitter shocked that Trump's approval has skyrocketed this week. Much like the election, they are seemingly proving the long held belief Americans prefer strong leadership to cowardly inaction.

While many are pretending to be unhappy about his "fire and fury" remark, which was immediately echoed by Mattis and Tillerson, most of America's response?

It's about damn time. Coddling North Korea is exactly what led to this. Reminds me of the librarian fresh out of college that declares, "Now Dakota, you've been advised about setting a fire in the wastebasket before. One more time, it'll be a written warning." The crusty old broad kicks him out and tells him to try again next year.

Now that we've learned the previous administration had intelligence NK could miniaturize a nuclear device and attach it to a long range missile...many moons ago, and it was met with their normal "cover it up and let's spend more money" answer to everything...not playing very well among the rubes.

8/10/2017 08:01:00 PM

(8/10/2017 07:00:00 PM) - Al

At the end of the day, the difference is stark.

Republicans look to create jobs and grow the economy.

Dems look to expand government by raising taxes on the successful because the unsuccessful don't have enough money to worry about.

By the way, the left worrying about money they do not get to spend because of the incentives FoxConn is getting is the epitome of their negative outlook. If not for the incentives, FoxConn would have never chosen Wisconsin, so they never would have had that revenue anyway.

If you don't like what Governor Walker is doing, just head south, as IL has done the opposite for the past 20 years. Other than their upcoming default, they're doing just fine.

(8/10/2017 06:50:00 PM) - Al

For at least the 5th time this summer, it is pouring in the backyard, but not raining at all in the front.

I blame Russia.

And climate change.

I think we better do something now, or we'll have a disaster in about, oh, about 10 years.

8/10/2017 06:50:00 PM

(8/10/2017 05:42:00 PM) - Al

Our country and civilians are vulnerable today because Barack Obama did not believe in national missile defense. Let’s never forget that.--John Bolton

Reagan believed in peace through strength. Obama believed in signing idiotic agreements, defunding the military, and shipping pallets of cash to terrorists.

It'll take decades to repair all the damage that they caused.

8/10/2017 04:01:00 PM

(8/10/2017 03:30:00 PM) - Al

If only a wise man had been informing us of this for several years.

Actually, it's about time someone else noticed.

Soon, they'll even notice the answer is always the same as well...redistribution of income. Because it has never worked, but damn it, it sure makes sense, especially if you're a failure.

8/10/2017 03:30:00 PM

(8/10/2017 03:10:00 PM) - Al

I think everyone knew they were illegal.

They just didn't care because they knew no one would enforce such silliness. And, of course, it's fine to discriminate, as long as it's against whites, men, Christians, or any other group liberals do not care about.

8/10/2017 03:10:00 PM

(8/10/2017 03:07:00 PM) - Al

Had a chip in my windshield, so I called the insurance company, and they happily sent out a technician. He just got here and left. Chip magically fixed itself.

It must have been something that was "rough" feeling when I checked to see if it was a leaf. But, the wind and rain must have washed it away. Tech said he drove an hour earlier today and the "chip" turned out to be a bug. I admit, I felt kind of silly.

8/10/2017 03:07:00 PM

(8/10/2017 11:30:00 AM) - Al

If only some wise man could have seen this foreign policy disaster coming, say, several years ago?

Leading from behind looks an awful lot like not giving a damn.

Jay Bruce headed to CLE. His value might well indicate if the Brewers go after any rental position players.

EDIT: Former 30th round pick, unranked prospect going back to the Mets, though CLE is paying Bruce. Hard throwing pitcher though, so I guess you never know.

They find it bothersome to admit Trump easily won independents and disloyal Dems, so they continue to lie about it. The proof is in the numbers.

I just saw today that 69% think the US economy is headed in the right direction. It's a lot easier for folks to tell a pollster that than to say they like Trump. The Dems realize this is poison to their best interests, so they will continue to fight tax breaks and fiscal responsibility every step of the way...because they know it will work.

8/09/2017 04:30:00 PM

(8/09/2017 04:15:00 PM) - Al

Ian Kinsler is on August waivers. As Rosenthal points out, would have to pass through all AL teams and all but a few NL clubs to get to Brewers, and would have to work out his no trade clause.

Other options probably far more likely, including Neil Walker, Jed Lowrie, several others.

(8/09/2017 03:58:00 PM) - Al

Khris Davis admits he has a problem.

No offense, but I think he's fibbing. His "yips" excuse, while plausible, given that Garza and Lester and others suffer/have suffered from it, makes no sense. If he is afraid of overthrowing the cutoff man and costing his team runs, his arm should be far stronger in warmups, in practice, and mostly, on throws to the bases or home plate, when an overthrow is unimportant, as there is a backup in place, or the result would simply be a dead ball. Given the Brewers were working with him on arm strengthening exercises and the like, he either kept it to himself or, as I suspect, it's a ruse.

It wasn't that difficult...they just put the military in charge.

Wait, I thought North Korea just became a problem in the last 6 months?

As others have pointed out, the old media is unhappy Trump explained to a terrorist nation that there will be hell to pay, rather than pretending they did not exist and kicking the can down the road. However, the old media is apathetic that North Korea has been developing these weapons over the past decade while they fawned over the do nothing president.

Almost like they have an agenda...

I'm not sure what will happen if NK decides to press the issue. I do, however, know they will cease to exist within minutes if they do so.

Peace through strength. The new sheriff in town will not be sending them pallets of cash to placate.

Glenn points out it's different when Clinton does it, because shut up.

Lefties trying to blame Trump for North Korea are looking rather desperate to say the least. You can't pretend something is not a problem for 8 years and suddenly pretend it's quite alarming.

Pretty soon, you will begin to see the old media attempting to blame Trump for the pallets of cash Iran received. Trust me. I know it's a huge reach, but that's what they do.

I'm not sure if the left wants more unemployment or is just too ignorant to realize this would happen, or both. Regardless, it's a sad statement. Add this to the absolute outrage that Governor Walker's leadership and economic development has led to a deal bringing 10K+ good paying jobs to WI, it becomes obvious why the map is as red as it is.

I'm surprised Shaw left the game after seeing it got him in the neck. Catchers take a foul tip in that area every once in a while. Usually, the chin and just below it is protected, but the rest of the neck is pretty wide open. I wonder if they were afraid it ricocheted off his head somehow, head to glove to neck, perhaps.

The market goes in a series of booms and busts. Maximizing the booms and minimizing the busts is all one can really do.

It was artificially low after 9/11 and literally took years to get back where it should have been, and then experienced another artificial low during the "crisis" of 2008, which was mostly an exaggeration and caused by the government being involved in an area they should not be, mortgage lending.

8/05/2017 05:46:00 PM

(8/05/2017 05:22:00 PM) - Al

No one agrees with anyone 100% of the time.

That's one reason the "resistance" is so transparent. He's the most gay friendly president  the USA has ever had. The transgender ban is not "mean" or "biased," it's admitting the military does not have a way to take care of them and the others it would effect.

Where would they live...with the gender to which they "identify" themselves? Do you think young men would be comfortable sleeping, showering, and fighting next to a biological female? What happens when they're out on training or in a combat situation and it's time for a hormone injection? Someone from Bragg gonna fly in on a chopper and administer it, letting everyone know their whereabouts?

Obama did not care about any of this because his interest in the military was purely political. His complete apathy for the VA shows that.

There's a new sheriff in town. He, like most of flyover country that the left despises and pretends to tolerates only late in even numbered years, do not share those views.

I must admit, seeing those on the left bemoan the fact WI is spending money to bring in a huge company and thousands of jobs pretty much tells me I am on the right side. Many are giving alternative ways of spending the cash...of course, acting as if it is in a burlap bag with a $ on the side; with no understanding that the whole idea is to add to the tax base. Remember, taxes are what other people pay.

Most of all, the hatred and disgust that they show for businesses which want to build a future in WI and give people a steady paycheck and good benefits...it's mind boggling.

The Brewers may not be able to count on catcher Jett Bandy down the stretch. As Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal tweets, the 27-year-old has been diagnosed with a fractured rib. It is not immediately clear how much time he’ll miss, though anything but a fairly rapid return could spell the end of his season. With Stephen Vogt also out, Andrew Susac is the only healthy 40-man alternative to join Manny Pina on the MLB roster. But Susac himself only just made it back from injury woes, and it’s possible Milwaukee could end up checking into the market for alternatives.

This is the first time in my memory they have had 4 catchers on the 40 man, so it's fortunate they do. Susac has been awful much of the season, quite possibly due to playing injured. He has been better of late, but let's be honest...not many teams can summon their 4th catcher and have that player be better than replacement level.

Take a moment to realize that the FoxConn deal was impossible just 7 years ago, before Act 10.

Luckily, WI had a leader, and not a pawn of the unions in the governor's office.

Allow me to say how incredibly ignorant the left looks for vehemently arguing against 10K high paying jobs...and probably many more, as suppliers and others look to find real estate close by, all because they are embarrassed the GOP put this thing together, and they were too busy trying to figure out ways to sabotage them.

Bandy has a broken rib, so he will go on the DL. That would likely leave Susac to come up from AAA, barring a waiver claim or trade, though they do have other veteran catchers, just not on the 40 man.

Woodruff will start tomorrow night, as we had expected. Davies and Nelson will follow.

And you say people are leaving IL? $2.88 tax on a $5.99 purchase, apparently, 1 cent an ounce.

And they're still broke.

But I have been told it is the greatest thing to ever exist on the planet!

Let me give you the shorthand version:

1. Higher taxes.

2. More spending.

3. Coverage that very few people can afford, with higher deductibles as well.

Oh, I'm sorry, I just described the original.

Wang was sent out to make room for Garza.

All signs point to Brinson being sent back for the SP tomorrow, which appears to be Woodruff.

Note, the same guy found both these huge areas of garbage, that no one else has any proof of, despite satellite imagery.

If one was cynical, they might think there's a very good chance he's exaggerating the size of these things, because I'm sure he is looking for cash to "continue the search."

If.

Whenever the TV guys act surprised by the size of the crowd, I always check to see if it's a BP night. Sure enough, it's a free tickets for filling up with gas game.

8/02/2017 08:51:00 PM

(8/02/2017 08:48:00 PM) - Al

Forgot to mention Espino went down to make room for Jeffress. Garza will be activated tomorrow to start, and will likely see Wang or Brinson head down. Might depend on how the bullpen looks after tonight.

Woodruff is expected to get the start SAT, and obviously, another move will have to be made then.

That could well be a one start and send down situation, as that spot in the rotation will not be needed until later in the month due to days off.

(8/02/2017 07:43:00 PM) - Al

Talk about being out of touch.

The irony is, in flyover country, this is not even an issue...85-90% say that you should have to go through proper channels and follow rules to become a citizen of the greatest country in the world.

This is why they lose.

Gas prices are lower, and speed limits are higher. Let's not pretend we did not see this coming.

(8/02/2017 04:40:00 PM) - Al

Verlander also put on August waivers. I would expect him to clear, as his $58M owed in '18-'19 is prohibitive. If he does clear, DET can negotiate with all teams, but JV can still say no if he wished to stay in DET.

Being a 10/5 man, he can refuse any claim as well.

8/02/2017 04:40:00 PM

(8/02/2017 03:19:00 PM) - Al

Garza will get the start THU, Brewers announce. Will set TB rotation at a later time.

With the DH in play from FRI-TUE, one would think they may keep Brinson, but that's actually backwards. With a DH, you do not need to PH for the pitcher, so you actually need fewer position players. Working backwards, I assume Nelson SUN, Davies FRI, and either a callup or a bullpen game SAT. Due to days off, they would only HAVE to use that 5th SP spot two times in AUG after SAT...and Anderson may be back in a while.

8/02/2017 03:19:00 PM

(8/02/2017 01:11:00 PM) - Al

I've always understood there to be a 3x multiple to new business opening or moving...not sure if that is because of the family dynamic or what, but that's why those that scoff at a guy opening a 5 person business don't see the big picture...those 5 people will support 10 others.

Those 10 support 20 others. Job growth is systematic, and while some will give credit to "momentum," it's really just continued creation.

8/02/2017 01:11:00 PM

(8/02/2017 12:42:00 PM) - Al

One of a hundred possibilities for teams looking for a reliever. Johnson is a bit of a unique case, however, signed through next season at a reasonable price. Very low HR's, very much a groundball pitcher.

Should be very popular and will likely be claimed by several clubs.

8/02/2017 12:42:00 PM

(8/02/2017 12:14:00 PM) - Al

Bawcom is a Stearns type, good BB/K numbers, and low HR's allowed. His splits, however, show he is much better versus RH hitters, meaning he might be a bit of a specialty type guy. He has put up good numbers in a hitter's league and has had success as a SP in the past, which is usually very positive.

Enrollments and donations would skyrocket.

I would have voided the Iran deal because:

1. It's incredibly stupid.

2. It's illegal for the president to spend money without the consent of Congress, and last time I checked, pallets of cash were not exempt.

8/01/2017 10:00:00 PM

(8/01/2017 09:38:00 PM) - Al

(8/01/2017 09:14:00 PM) - Al

Surprised Hader was brought in there. The guy has 12 walks in 20 innings. He has not allowed many runs to score, but he's allowed far too many baserunners.

For comparison sakes, he has one less walk than Swarzak does in 50+ frames.

(8/01/2017 08:22:00 PM) - Al

No offense to Dejong, but he has a .314 OBP and a .350 BAbip. He's a product of good luck. Nice pop for a middle infielder, however.

(8/01/2017 08:00:00 PM) - Al

I assume it's because they hate their country.

Keon only down about 10 days, so he will not use an option.

Since he has one remaining, that's kind of a big deal. Like to have that for the future.

8/01/2017 07:46:00 PM

(8/01/2017 07:14:00 PM) - Al

Heh.

Well, he's still slow. Time went slower back then!

If Obama would have had the economy moving like this, they would have made him king.

8/01/2017 07:14:00 PM

(8/01/2017 06:13:00 PM) - Al

I told you this is how it would go.

Obama ignored and winked at North Korea for 8 years, doing nothing and kicking the can down the road.

A few months later, suddenly, this is a HUGE problem...that just came out of nowhere.

I hope the public is far smarter than the old media thinks they are.

8/01/2017 06:13:00 PM

(8/01/2017 05:06:00 PM) - Al

Brewers could have KRod and Axford at Colorado Springs.

8/01/2017 05:06:00 PM

(8/01/2017 04:30:00 PM) - Al

Something I learned while looking for something else.

It is cheaper to ship hay, or grain, or any "bulk" good from the western USA to China than it is from the western USA cross country to the eastern USA.

Seem impossible? Chalk it up to supply and demand.

Every day, thousands of shipping containers are unloaded in western ports that arrived from China. US ports are built and designed for ships that can hold up to 5K shipping containers. When those ships are empty they...often sit and wait. Why?

Because there is not nearly as many things going to China. Often, ships either float back empty or only a fraction full. Some companies refuse to do this, so ships pull anchor and float around the west coast while their staff works on filling it up for the return trip. So, companies work to fill it up, giving discounts to those who have 100 or 1000 containers to do so quickly. Of course, they don't waste their time on the little guy who has 1 or 2 containers, so the little guy has to go through a "broker" who packages up little groups until he has hundreds or thousands. The broker that can give the shipping company the last 500 or 2000 containers so they can set sail ends up paying a fraction of the "normal" fee. If you take the total paid and divide it 5K, it ends up being far less moving it 7K miles via the ocean than the cost of moving it via train or highway 3K miles.

8/01/2017 04:30:00 PM

(8/01/2017 04:19:00 PM) - Al

So Bernie, explain to us what a craphole country the USA is compared to Venezuela...

Good work. Now, let's see how stupid this looks when the inevitable collapse occurs, as it always does.

Please, please let him run again.

(8/01/2017 04:05:00 PM) - Al

Broxton returns, will take Niewenhuis' place on 25 man.

Jeffress will not join team until tomorrow, Brinson expected to go back down when he reports.

They also have to make room for at least one SP soon, it is assumed it will be Woodruff, who will finally make that long awaited debut.

(8/01/2017 04:01:00 PM) - Al

8/01/2017 04:01:00 PM

(8/01/2017 12:53:00 PM) - Al

Things I learned while looking for something else.

Almost every night there is a heavy dew, the fancy rain gauges they use at the official weather monitoring places will register .01 or maybe even .02 inches of precipitation. So, do they count that as "rain?"

Nope. Well, kind of no.

If they check the rain gauge and it registers an amount...but they did not witness any rain in the time frame they are measuring, they simply ignore it and count it as 0.

However, if it rains and the gauge registers .07 inches of rain...well, a fraction of it may indeed be dew. No one really knows. So, does dew end up counting as precipitation? If it rains, it may add to the final amount. But if it does not rain, no.

As someone who has spent a decade in sales, people simply want to believe what they are told.

I've had to tell many people what they purchased is not what they thought it was. They are not dumb or stupid, but often very uneducated on that topic. They just listened to what they were told and figured all was good.
