We may never know the real reason.

I can't disagree.

I guess this opens up another spot on the 40 man then.

White supremacist = fiscal conservative.

Oh, and everyone is Hitler.

Though broken-hearted now with blowing lead, Anthony Swarzak, who will be FA, says wants to stay with MIL. "I love it here."--JS

Heh. No one ever says they can't wait to go somewhere else. He'll go either where he gets the most money or a promise to be closer. The best the Crew can probably hope for is an opportunity to match the cash. No one has really talked about it, but he and Barnes are practically twins stuff wise, except Jacob throws harder and is less consistent.

9/30/2017 08:05:00 PM

(9/30/2017 07:59:00 PM) - Al

As expected, Wilkerson gets the start tomorrow, Davies will take the last game off. If they are healthy, I would expect Wong and Williams to find their way in as well.

9/30/2017 07:59:00 PM

(9/30/2017 07:30:00 PM) - Al

As Tomi Lahren said the other day, "How about you show solidarity by standing with your hand over your heart?"

They got played by a man far smarter than they think, and oodles smarter than themselves. Keep underestimating fools.

9/30/2017 07:30:00 PM

(9/30/2017 06:57:00 PM) - Al

Swarzak deserved a far better fate, 2 ground balls through the hole.

Tomorrow's lineup and pitching plan might be as interesting as we have seen in ages. I assume Counsell will ask all the veterans if they want to play or not. For some, they might have a round number they want to hit, but most, especially FA's to be, want to go into the offseason healthy.

9/30/2017 06:57:00 PM

(9/30/2017 05:49:00 PM) - Al

I'm not saying it's all lies and exaggerations.

But it has that feel to it.

Not only is it separated from the USA, there is a language barrier. Tough to confirm, though many on the ground are lauding the efforts...they don't have an agenda though.

51 of 69 hospitals taking patients, half of grocery/big box stores now open,11 major highways cleared & over 60% of fuel stations open.--VP Pence

This sounds better than WI after a big snowstorm, to be honest. Makes you wonder.

9/30/2017 05:35:00 PM

(9/30/2017 05:17:00 PM) - Al

This is 100% accurate.

They wish he'd just be silent and take it. That's a shame.

(9/30/2017 04:53:00 PM) - Al

I'm not saying it's just politics. I am saying the woman above insists Doc Seuss is racist. However, odds are it's just politics. It's all they know.

And by the way, yes, bad optics. Insisting you need more goods when you can't deliver the ones you have...brilliant.

9/30/2017 04:53:00 PM

(9/30/2017 04:30:00 PM) - Al

Those ladies were fools to not vote for Hillary.

Eight years earlier, they were incredibly intelligent not to vote for Hillary.

Infield hit, blooper, blooper, sun double.

(9/30/2017 02:49:00 PM) - Al

I'm off to my safe space.

9/30/2017 02:49:00 PM

(9/30/2017 02:35:00 PM) - Al

Not only that, a lot of them insist they are vastly superior and far more intelligent than you.

You're a damn nazi! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to refill my scrip and get a shot of penicillin.

9/30/2017 02:35:00 PM

(9/30/2017 02:30:00 PM) - Al

They ain't very bright, to be certain.

They'll probably be inviting law enforcement, first responders, and the military to games for years to try and regain what they threw away because they thought they'd stick it to Trump.

9/30/2017 02:30:00 PM

(9/30/2017 12:00:00 PM) - Al

See how easy it is?

They fell hook, like, and sinker for it.

We'll show Trump how unpatriotic we are by showing how unpatriotic we are!

That doesn't make any sense.

Shut up.

Things you didn't need to tell me for $1000, Alex.

(9/30/2017 07:00:00 AM) - Al

She fell into the "if Trump does it, it's bad" trap.

And looks like a blithering idiot. Imagine that.

You know, he was an old media darling until he had an R in front of his name. Just a coincidence I'm sure.

9/30/2017 07:00:00 AM

(9/30/2017 06:00:00 AM) - Al

This is especially a problem for me when I take the red eye from my Hawaiian villa to my Manhattan condo on a Sunday night when I have a presentation due MON afternoon and I wasted the whole weekend on a meth and coke binge.

Or when I finish reading my Beetle Bailey book on my library app and I need to download my next Zane Gray novel.

9/30/2017 06:00:00 AM

(9/30/2017 05:30:00 AM) - Al

Knebel gives up a HR, but closes it out. Barring a miraculous comeback by LA, the Crew will have to win 3 in a row, including the playoff MON if the Rockies lose the final 2.

Nice Swarzak, Hader, and Hughes all got the night off, back end of the bullpen relatively fresh with Guerra just hoping to get through 2-3 tomorrow. If they have a lead, Hader might come in as early as the 4th or 5th.

9/29/2017 10:05:00 PM

(9/29/2017 09:59:00 PM) - Al

I'd take Diaz's future over Dejong's.

A near .350 BAbip is not sustainable. Neither is a .500+ SLG with a 6-1 K/BB ratio. The metrics do not show it, but he does not look like a SS to me either.

9/29/2017 09:59:00 PM

(9/29/2017 09:51:00 PM) - Al

Trump recovered from an offhand decade old comment, but that pales in comparison to Suzy Favor Hamilton coming back from being a married,  unapologetic high priced "escort" to now being a...I dunno, an in demand mental health spokesperson?

I would have thought it was impossible.

9/29/2017 09:51:00 PM

(9/29/2017 08:50:00 PM) - Al

This seems to be going around.

Negative nellies gonna be negative. That's why they want to punish the prosperity of others.

9/29/2017 08:50:00 PM

(9/29/2017 04:42:00 PM) - Al

If only a wise man could have predicted this would happen just moments after the president called them out on it.

Picking on spoiled athletes, many with criminal records, behaving badly and unpatriotic is working? Who'd have thunk it? No one could have seen this coming!

9/29/2017 04:42:00 PM

(9/29/2017 03:55:00 PM) - Al

The Rambling wife wanted a Roku box in her office.

{Pause while I take yet another opportunity to point out I'm married to a college woman.}

I ordered her one, and an HDMI cable to hook it up, Not knowing how long of one she needed, I ordered a 3 foot and a 10 foot, as they only cost a $1 or $2 at Rambling son just opened the 3 foot one, and not trying to hide his disgust and embarrassment, informed me I ordered a USB cable, not an HDMI cable. I told him to put the paperwork back in the envelope and I'd just return it to WalMart next time we go. As he walked away, he said, "Before you order those again, let me check it," in a reprimanding tone.  I did not look up, as I was afraid I would see an index finger shaking menacingly in my direction.

Yes sir.

9/29/2017 03:55:00 PM

(9/29/2017 03:26:00 PM) - Al

The president asked who was next...Washington?

Nope, Seuss.

The irony here is simple...they have decided that everything Trump is bad, no matter the hypocrisy involved. This may appeal to those on the extreme left, but it makes everyone else wonder how much of what they say is pure propaganda.

Meanwhile, those people looking to donate books to a library now understand they may be investigated politically and their motives scrutinized. What does this lead to? Far less incentive to donate books to libraries.

I can't see that as a good thing.

Consistency is not their strength.

9/29/2017 03:26:00 PM

(9/29/2017 02:30:00 PM) - Al

Also, he was saved by two law enforcement officers with guns. If not for good guys with firearms, it would have been a massacre of GOP congressmen.

As is, most of the old media has all but forgotten it happened, and certainly never mention the nugget of fact he was killed by a Sanders supporting terrorist.

Does not fit the narrative. If it had been a Trump supporter, he'd be a household name like Tim McVeigh. It would still be leading the news every night.

9/29/2017 02:30:00 PM

(9/29/2017 02:28:00 PM) - Al

See how easy that was?

I'm not sure why the left insists on defending behavior the public finds reprehensible.

9/29/2017 02:28:00 PM

(9/29/2017 02:22:00 PM) - Al

No matter what, it's never enough.

If President Trump cured cancer tomorrow, they'd say why he didn't cure AIDS, he must be homophobic.

9/29/2017 02:22:00 PM

(9/29/2017 02:10:00 PM) - Al

Note the folks at the bottom of the article insisting they come up with a way to save this giant rat that they never knew existed, and that honestly, has no redeemable qualities worth saving.

It weighs about as much as my cocker spaniel did, and has hellishly sharp teeth. They'd get a lot more people on their side if they tried to eradicate it.

9/29/2017 02:10:00 PM

(9/29/2017 01:30:00 PM) - Al

I have to wonder if Flake will announce he won't seek another term.

I can't say I've ever heard of a sitting senator losing a primary...rarely do they ever face a serious contender. Down 27 points? That's bordering on ridiculous. Ward has to be nearing live boy/dead girl (or would it be live girl/dead boy for her?) territory.

I know someone on TV said the other day that McCain is equally disliked in AZ right now, but, of course, he has 5 years left on his term and has no plans to run again...and what's that they have called it, a mortality term limit?

Already plenty of talk about McCain stepping down, and per the rumors, has already discussed with the governor the options he would prefer. Ducey, the governor, is said to have asked McCain for his input, as Ducey is far younger and only in his first term. It was said McCain likely suggested a couple sitting politicians, and quite possibly Ducey was one of them. It would be odd, as then both AZ senate seats would be up for grabs in 2018, one elected for 4 years and one for 6.

I just realized, this is bordering on almost newsy. Gotta quit that crap.

9/29/2017 01:30:00 PM

(9/29/2017 11:18:00 AM) - Al

When Dr. Seuss is a racist...

If one did not know better, one might think the left was doing exactly the opposite of what they should be doing.

9/29/2017 11:18:00 AM

(9/29/2017 11:00:00 AM) - Al

What? What? Did you say something?

Too easy I know.

Know what else will make you lose your hearing? Living 91 years.

(9/29/2017 08:30:00 AM) - Al

Another team admits they feel very strongly about...shutting the hell up and continuing to be very well compensated.

The NFL has obviously made it clear activism is either no longer allowed or strongly discouraged. These "unity pics" would have been a fine thing to do before jumping the shark last week.

One gets the feelings team sponsors and advertisers spoke loud and clear.

Consistency is not their strength.

You see, insisting women need special favoritism proves they are weaker, the exact opposite of what they claim to stand for. But, when you're not smart enough to realize this, you post crap like this and then wonder why women vote for the other side.

Well said.

You know, I don't recall hearing passionate arguments about freedom of speech being so gosh darn important about 8 years ago when some evil conservatives proclaimed they thought many of this Obama's fellas ideas were, well, not exactly going to work out in a positive manner.

Turns out informing the enemy terrorist group the date you will be leaving the battle field is not the most intelligent military strategery.

Well, now we know.

Cards lose to the Cubs B squad, so hopefully, they'll rest/shut down some of their top players tomorrow and over the weekend. Doesn't mean the other guys aren't plenty capable, but I'm not proud.

If and when the Brewers are eliminated, I would assume we'll see several players "shut down" immediately. As I point out annually, contenders rarely have anyone out with injury, yet non contenders are often playing a half dozen guys short.

That means contenders have several players playing at well less than 100%.

Vogt would be the obvious choice, but Arcia has had several days off and looked "stiff" as well. Braun? Thames? Shaw? Guys with a lot of innings, younger pitchers especially, may take the rest of the season off too...Barnes, Knebel, Davies, Woodruff, even Hader, who has been pushed mightily the past month.

9/28/2017 03:41:00 PM

While I agree with Clarke on the topic, that money comes out of the armed forces' recruiting budget, which they are probably be increasing, especially since Trump wants to add a few of the troops that Clinton cut the living hell out of, because he failed to foresee the war on terror, and like most Dems, are at best apathetic about national defense.

You know, ISIS is just a JV squad, and it's too bad President Trump is so darn ignorant.

9/28/2017 02:30:00 PM

(9/28/2017 12:30:00 PM) - Al

God Bless Texas.

The NFL would do this too, if they didn't make $244M per team a year in TV and licensing money, before selling a single ticket. They thought they were bigger than the game.

For a sign of how far to the left Democrats have drifted on culture, just look at the last major anthem protest to sweep up a sports league. In 1996, Nuggets star Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf refused to stand for the national anthem, calling the American flag a symbol of tyranny. He was promptly suspended for a game and fined by the NBA. There was no uproar in favor of his right to protest, even in a league where most players were African-American. Condemnation of Abdul-Rauf’s action ran across the political spectrum. Then-commissioner David Stern later mandated players stand in a dignified manner when the anthem was played—a wholly uncontroversial decision.--Josh Kraushaar

Proof how far left the Dems have gone in just two decades? Here ya go.

What did Toby Keith say?

I did not leave the Democrat party. It left me.

Even a more painful quote from Keith:

I was a Democrat my whole life. They kind of disowned me when I started supporting the troops.

Hey, I didn't say it.

9/28/2017 09:00:00 AM

(9/28/2017 08:30:00 AM) - Al

That's exactly what the left is terrified of.

The GOP fought Obamacare because they knew it would not work. The Dems fight tax cuts because they know they will.

(9/28/2017 08:00:00 AM) - Al

Found this while looking for something else a while back.

I have never seen or heard of a barn cleaner like this, so I wonder if it did not work out, and this is an older article, from 1980. Or, maybe it's because most larger herds have moved to freestall style barns and parlors.

9/28/2017 08:00:00 AM

(9/28/2017 07:30:00 AM) - Al

9/28/2017 07:30:00 AM

(9/28/2017 03:30:00 AM) - Al

Out of touch much? To many folks I know, especially those that are retired, work in low paying jobs like retail or in a restaurant, $100 a month would be an absolute godsend. Wanting to keep the middle class (and even middle/upper class) down is perhaps the saddest of the left's ideas.

Years ago, I had a FB friend say how stupid Governor Walker's property tax cut was, because on the average house it was "only" $75, or less than 25 cents a day. As I pointed out, those small cuts add up, and even if you "only" cut $25 a year, after a decade, your taxes would be $250 less a year and those savings would add up to $1375. His response was fitting.

I'd rather pay a little bit more so the fat cats have to pay a lot more.

They despise the successful. As the Rambling wife and I often say, though we would not want a bigger house, we certainly have nothing against those who choose to pay more for more space and thus, pay more than us in property taxes.

9/28/2017 03:30:00 AM

(9/28/2017 02:00:00 AM) - Al

I tell this story often, but it remains true...the Rambling son's district had to take cheeseburgers off the menu, because the result was "too much protein." Not to mention how incredibly sad it is that for many children, limiting calories on the only good meal they get each day is akin to a POW camp.

Heavy on carbs, low on protein is not only really stupid, it's using nutritional info from 50 years ago that has been proven incorrect.

9/28/2017 02:00:00 AM

(9/28/2017 01:00:00 AM) - Al

Glenn is way off base here.

Obviously, the cows on Mars have too much gas. And, more importantly, they need to tax the successful more and redistribute income at a faster pace.

(9/28/2017 12:00:00 AM) - Al

Tax reform is all about more jobs, fairer taxes, and bigger paychecks for American families.--Paul Ryan

Well, to be fair, when he puts it that way, no wonder the Dems hate it.

(9/27/2017 11:08:00 PM) - Al

The Rockies have 86 wins, with 3 games left. They are obviously most likely to win 1 or 2 more, which would give them 87 or 88 victories. The Crew has 83 with 4 games left.

It does not take a math major to figure out Counsell will pretty much manage every game as if he's down 3-0 in a best of 7. The problem is, not only does that not guarantee victory, it barely makes it more likely.

9/27/2017 11:08:00 PM

The truth is not important.

It's the narrative, stupid.

"Put down the Chardonnay and check the news," sounds like a line Trump used during a debate. Good stuff.

I forget who said it, but bragging about drinking a lot during a time of stress is yet another reason it's a damn good thing she ain't president.

I saw something run across the road last time I was over in Milladore, which is probably about 30 miles from Neillsville as the Rambling dad would say, "as the crow flies."

I remember thinking it looked like a "bobcat," though I don't know what the proper name or term is. I dismissed it as a large fox, but who knows what it was.

Years ago, I was in the Owen Withee area and had an appointment with a gent who had went to the ER and emerged with a staph infection, as he wore cotton work gloves on his hands to cover it up. I recall two things:

One, how quickly I put massive amounts of hand sanitizer on my hands and arms on when I got in the car, as I had been itchy and clammy since I walked in the house.

Two, he had a picture of an animal someone had killed or possibly got hit by a car. They were all afraid to show it to a DNR person for fear of getting in trouble, so they took a pic and showed him, and they were told it was a "fisher." However, it was about 3 times bigger than the one at the link, about 30 pounds. I actually guessed it was some type of wild hog, which the guy said they also had wondered about.

This explains the quick hook (while Hader has been very good, I'm sure they hated using him that early and long) as well.

I wonder if Counsell considered starting Guerra (or someone else) and shifting Davies to SAT, when they have a "bullpen game" scheduled. That would have taken him out of the SUN start, but I can't imagine he was expected to be anywhere near 100% effective last night, and he was not. If the Brewers would have only scored a couple runs, he'd be second guessed...but, of course, he always is.

The Rockies won the season series versus the Brewers, so a tiebreaker would be played at Coors.

In the unlikely event of a 3 way tie, I'm sure we will hear about the situation at some point, but two teams would play MON with the winner playing TUE to decide who the 2nd wildcard is. Got an email today asking about Puerto Rico's relief response.

The irony is, by the time the old media started reporting it, it's pretty much over. The ports of PR did not open until SAT, and cargo ships immediately began anchoring and offloading supplies...I believe they said about 2M gallons of water alone on the first boat, on an island of 3M people.

It's a shame they will take a long time before electricity is restored. It's also a shame they choose to live on a small island in the Atlantic in a hurricane zone. Humans have been around for about 6M years, and we've had electricity for 150 and AC for about half that. Needless to say, they'll be fine. Of course, there is a small fraction of people that have health problems that will be in tough shape without AC. That's why the life expectancy used to be 40.

In fact, pointing out the fact they do not have AC actually hurts the cause, as it's still an unheard of luxury for much of the world, a fact the old media doesn't understand. It's like complaining you only have light beer, or that you only got 8 hours of sleep last night...the person that has cancer or is recovering from a car accident or serious burns (or, like me, just genuinely thinks you're a spoiled crybaby) just rolls their eyes and quietly decides to ignore your fictional struggles in the future.

Rockies lost last night, so Crew is 1.5 out.

When they both had 6 left to play, the most likely outcome was COL winning 3 games. The next most likely was 4-2, and then 2-4. One of those 3 situations was probably the result of 80-90% of computer simulations.

So, the math would seem to indicate the Brewers need to win 4-6 games. With 5 remaining, the most likely scenario is 3 wins, then 2. So, using math, the Crew is probable to make the playoffs (or a 163rd game) if they win 5 or 6 more games. The negative? The odds of them winning 5 or 6 is probably about 5%, and probably even less.

Thus far this season, in 156 games, the Brewers have had 151 6 game stretches, and have won 5 or 6 20 times. That's actually 13.2%, even a bit higher.

Time to get hot...and, time for the Reds and Cards to hit a cold spell.

Speaking of potential Brewers trades, they weren’t willing to deal rookie left-hander Josh Hader in a package for White Sox southpaw Jose Quintana back in July, Rosenthal reports. The Sox ended up sending Quintana to one of the Brewers’ NL Central rivals, the Cubs, for a return including outfielder Eloy Jimenez and right-hander Dylan Cease. Milwaukee might not have topped that in the White Sox’s eyes even if it offered outfielder Lewis Brinson and righty Luis Ortiz, as the South Siders were bent on landing Jimenez, Rosenthal suggests. As for Hader, the 23-year-old has turned in 44 relief innings of 1.64 ERA ball, with 12.48 K/9 against 4.3 BB/9, making him one of the Brewers’ best players this season.--MLBTR

I think Sundays are about to start being for anything but football. I see athletes kneeling for the anthem as our nation's colors are presented, yet stand for a different country's. I can't help but to think of Jesse Owens, who stood atop the podium in Berlin, in front of Adolph Hitler and his "superior" athletes, with great pride for what he had done for his country, only to come back and not be able to drink out of the same water fountain. Or Cassius Clay (at the time) winning an Olympic gold medal, only to come home and be asked to leave a restaurant for being black. These men had reason to demonstrate. Yet they stood during these adverse times to show they were stronger than what was thought of a black man to be, during the anthem, during it all, and chose to use their platform outside of sports to do what they needed to. Now I see athletes with lucrative lifestyles, completely away from reality, as well as sports personalities, who believe their opinion genuinely means more than the people who allow their leagues to flourish, push a narrative of "we're always the victims". Yet most of these athletes will take a few photo ops at the local Y and call it good in terms of helping out their communities, rather than educating youth of the values of work ethic, family, and pride. They choose make their stand after a heroin dealer who leads police on a high speed chase, comes after the officers and gets shot, rather than children who's lives are ruined by gangs and their communities' own internal problems.
I have to laugh when someone like Roger Goodell comes out and acts like he cares about the players rights...the same man who allows serial woman-beaters and drug abusers to run wild in his league. As long as it keeps the money flowing, Rog. Spare me. If an athlete were to demonstrate because he doesn't believe this country should allow abortion and received blowback, would the manner have been handled the same? I truly doubt that. To say racism doesn't occur is dead wrong. Yet if a white player would kneel because he feels a black athlete is getting preferred treatment, again it would not be allowed in the same manner.
I'm not going to pretend like I'm some war hero, or make the remark "I served so you could do this." Luckily I never had any buddies die. I have, however seen men with internal and external wounds they carry from serrving under this nation's colors. I've seen what real racism and bigotry is----in other nations. I have seen military funerals first hand, with the stars and stripes folded up and handed to widows, parents, and children in complete grief. Many men of all races have died so as you can have the right to desecrate the anthem on Sundays whilst making millions. And while it is just that, your right, it's also my right to disagree with how you conduct yourself during that time...and that doesn't make me a racist or a bigot. It's just one pissed off asshole's opinion--- just like yours.--John Kutchera

Seen on my Facebook.

They will be shocked tomorrow when despite loads of support from the coasts, those in flyover country, even those solidly on the left, will be shaking their head in disgust.

They are doing just what he wants them to do.

They simply can't help themselves. Playing right into his hands because they have not properly thought it out.Too emotional to see the big picture. Twitter is full of lefties imploring players to "take a knee."

As Glenn says, I'm not Scott Adams either, but having those that oppose Trump proudly show disrespect for the flag and the American institution of our national anthem will not hurt him, and it's very easy to imagine it helping him.

If the Dems had a leader that would stand up and say, 'Let's show our dissent by proudly honoring the flag and the military," Trump could have agreed with them, and the opportunity to use this would have been all but lost.

Instead, he laid the trap, and they fell right in. Those on the left are proudly imploring folks to act like children, begging them to be unpatriotic...which is exactly what President Trump suggested the other night.

The fact is, this is a HUGE winner, as even those who feel the players have every right to kneel despise the fact they do so....not to mention, defending them makes you seem very anti American.

Trump is wise to choose this for one of his signature issues. It's an 80/20 in a 50/50 world. The only locations that do not feel this way he's never going to win regardless.

My talk with Justin went fine, I'll post the link when it becomes available. I briefly forgot where their high A team was, but I blame it on the fact that I had to write down Keston Hiura's name phonetically, then sound it out, and my brain is not used to such exertion.

The interesting thing to me, and many others, is why CNN is reporting this and not hiding it. They must want it to come out in pieces to try and minimize the damage, or possibly find a scapegoat that is not Obama, who, lest we forget, used the IRS to target conservative groups, and investigated a Fox News reporter just because he could.

The irony of this? The fictional outrage and "how dare Trump even suggest that?" folks have been caught once again.

This is why it is so strange to see the GOP out in front of the school choice movement, as it benefits urban children most, as they have crappy schools far more than most, and urban areas have more children of color than suburban or rural areas.

Fighting something that will help kids shows how dependent the left is to unions, even though they have just a fraction of the strength they once did, as only about half choose to pay dues if they do not have to.

You are a zillion times more likely to be injured or killed driving to or home from a baseball game than you sitting in the stands watching one.

I think the net behind home plate is obviously needed and a great thing. I feel a net stretching well down the lines in front of people hundreds of feet away from the batter is a bit of overkill.

I also wonder why the focus is on MLB, and not the plethora of minor league, town ball, college and amateur ball, and so on. Well, actually, I know why...MLB has a lot of money; while the other entities do not.

I'm not the first one to the party here, but it is very funny how the folks gave us Obamacare are suddenly very concerned about the premium increases that would come with Graham Cassidy.

Maybe the GOP should claim it will reduce premiums by $2500 a year and then see them go through the roof...the Dems would then defend it and say it is awesome!

Democrats controlled all of state government in 2009. Their budget cut K-12 education funding $284 million. Ours adds $636 million.--Governor Walker

No one said a word, because the gravy train of far higher than fair market salaries and benefits were in place, and the taxpayers suffered (the little people, as they would say).

Today in Wausau, we thought it might hit 90 for the first time all year. It was 87 at 2:20...and at 2:35, it was 77. Suddenly, it went from a slight breeze to 20-25 mph, and with it came the cool.

I see Lacrosse and others hit 95...they can have it.

Looks like the over under for the Brewers' final attendance is 2.55M, dependent on how many Cubs' fans come to the games and if the Reds' series means anything or not, which will heavily influence the walk up sales.

That will have them finish between 10th and 14th, compared to 2.3M and 16th last season.

I think the Bucks are going to make a few moves in the upcoming weeks. They now have 4 veterans signed to non guaranteed contracts that could easily fit in with almost any team in the league in the 11-15 spots on the roster.

They signed Gerald Green today, and Kendall Marshall, James Young, and Brandon Rush  were already under contract...all to non guaranteed, training camp deals.

Note the first comment. 100% true.

1. They hate success, and want everyone to be "equal" as in all equally poor and suffering.

2. As I have seen others say, this is as newsworthy as reporting she drives her own car to work each day.

Mark my words, the Dems will insist they love school choice and pushed it through in a decade.

Overall, I agree with Senator Paul.

There's no doubt the Graham Cassidy bill is oodles better than Obamacare, but it's nothing like we need or should have. It is similar to giving a starving man a tic tac.

And, as a political contrarian, as Obamacare becomes more and more of a failure, and will eventually blow up on its own merits, those clips of Dems insisting it's a huge success and should be left untouched will hurt them far more than the GOP.

Certainly nothing wrong with taking 2 of 3 on the road, but it's especially damning to lose after throwing so many arms at the Pirates. Counsell isn't worrying about tomorrow, and that's certainly understandable given the situation of having to catch up with just a few games to play.

Swarzak, while he did not give up a run while he was in, did not look to have a sharp breaking ball or his normal velocity. Knebel has been so good, it's almost shocking to see him give up anything, but as Hader showed a couple weeks ago, major league hitters can catch up to any fastball if it's down.

It's one thing not to have your top couple guys, as I feel pretty confident getting through the last innings with some combo of Hader/Hughes/Jeffress/Drake, but they all worked tonight except Drake, so while they may available, they might well be at partial strength.

One more reason to hope for a 12-1 win. Of course, that's what many of us hope for every day.

The Post’s Jorge Castillo, meanwhile, reports that the Nationals have hired former American League Cy Young winner Pete Vuckovich as a special assistant to general manager Mike Rizzo (Twitter link). Vuckovich has previously held special assistant roles in the Pirates’ front office and the Mariners’ front office, and Castillo notes that he’s spent the past couple of seasons working as a pro scout in the Diamondbacks organization. Vuckovich spent parts of 11 seasons pitching for the Brewers, Cardinals, White Sox and Blue Jays.--MLBTR

Nelson will miss "a chunk" of 2018 as he recovers from surgery.

I had Stearns adding a SP via FA/trade before, so now, I suppose I have him adding a pair.

You need 8-10 SP's to have the depth to get through a season. I would say right now they realistically have 7-9; Anderson, Woodruff, Davies, Suter, Wilkerson, Guerra, Jungmann, (Hader...SP or RP?), Garza (option picked up?).

As always, it's a lot easier to fill those 8th-10th spots than it is 1st-3rd.

I laugh every day how folks complain that Counsell "changes the lineup."

1. For the most part, it's called platooning.

2. Setting up players to succeed is pretty much all a manager can do. He has access to many a player does against ground ball/fly pitchers, high velocity/low velocity pitchers, and many that we do not.

Saw today that the Crew is 22-11 since they lost 6 in a row and had a team meeting.

Of course, while that seems impressive...

1. If they worked, they'd have a team meeting every day.

2. If you include the 6 games prior, they are 22-17 in their last 39 games, which is a 91 win pace. Overall, they are 81-70...which is an 87 win pace.

It's almost as if that proves how meaningless small samples are.

So, for those keeping score:

1. Trump tweeted the truth.

2. The old media insisted it was lies, all lies.

3. The old media finally was unable to cover it up anymore, after months of doing so.

4. Old media and Dem politicians proven to be incorrect, and/or lying liars.

Gee, who woulda guessed it?

I, for one, am shocked.

The always unhappy left...the gift that just keeps on giving.

Most all reasonably intelligent US citizens realize kids mowing lawn is often a good summer activity, or a slow progression into other responsibilities and jobs. If it doesn't remind you of Obama's 96 months of insisting American exceptionalism was a negative, nothing will.

Adams has been right so often, he's earned the benefit of a lot of doubts.

He's right though. I've spent a decade in sales, and he's 100% accurate on persuasion and marketing. The Dems insist they can win back voters by effectively saying, "You're an idiot. You elected a meanie, you're stupid fools, and you're just lucky we are here to save you from yourselves. Oh, and by the way, you're racists. Now, vote for us."

The first thought you are taught is to always be complimentary to your prospective clients. Their house is lovely, their lawn is lovely, they've done a great job for themselves. Now, let me help.

The left, since last NOV (and actually since the constant Obama condescending tone in 2009), the goal has to been to insist "I'm your best best to help you, because you're too dumb to know what you need. You're fat and your wife is ugly, now put me into power."

The only question is how they survived so long.

It is well known that in the late 90's, TRU hired a consulting firm to come in and give them advice on what to do with operations, which would be best described as inept and ridiculous. When the consulting folks explained to corporate they needed to revamp the way they did everything, that they were simply broken and basically needed to start over, they...wait for it...fired the consulting company.

In perhaps an even more embarrassing tale, they had 2 computer systems, one used for scheduling, one used for inventory, payroll, and everything else. They had been given "trial" software, and when they could not agree on a price after the "trial" period was complete, TRU just kept using it. Hence, the 2 systems could not communicate with each other, which as you can imagine, was a logistical nightmare.

The corporate office would routinely send out changes to goofed up planograms and not give any hours to stores. One hour changes would take 3 associates 2-3 days to finish. They insisted "working a truck" (unloading, stocking shelves, and putaway) should take 15 man reality, it took about 20-25 man hours just to move the merch from the truck to the storeroom.

I have not been inside one for years, but when the Rambling son was younger, we would often stop by the Appleton and Green Bay ones...employees in ripped jeans and a half dozen different Tshirts would stand around chatting and shrug a lot.

CNN has been proven to be fake news many times before, and this simply proves they are still doing it.

They're so desperate for ratings, they begged him to return today, then lied about inviting him back, and then got caught when they canceled his appearance, both by voice mail and by tweet.

If you can't believe CNN when they talk about who they've invited, you certainly can't believe them on anything else.

Travis has absolutely destroyed them, as he points out, simply by being honest. When you tell the truth, you don't have to remember who you lied to and what you said.

I do understand it...many are jealous and resentful of the successful. That's why many insist the wealthy (they always define wealthy as making more than themselves) should pay more in taxes.

I, on the other hand, have often said those that are more successful than myself are probably luckier, smarter, and/or work harder than me...and I can't really be unhappy at them for any of those reasons.

The real irony with Osteen is, he doesn't take any salary from his church, all of his wealth comes from selling books, CD's, and planners. Should he just give them away? 1. Cut 10% every year on everything except the military and defense related items.

2. Then, use your political clout gained from the economic boom from number one to get serious about cutting spending.

For a week or two, I kept seeing on Facebook people insisting WI would not pass a budget because "it was so bad."

Of course, "so bad" means my taxes will go down and lavish, wasteful spending for public servants keeps getting turned down.

I did not pay attention, since the GOP has both houses, I assumed it'd make it through, after lots of bickering and infighting, of course. Politics ain't a game for the faint of heart. In our area, a $4M airport in WI Rapids made minor news because it seems designed for private planes who play at an area golf course.

I realize $4M is a rounding error of a rounding error on a huge budget like that. If you look past the faux angst of the left pretending to be fiscally responsible, you'll see that the airport was scheduled to be redone or expanded or whatever in a few years, and just got bumped up...not sure if it's political or just because it was so inexpensive.

There’s little more than an “outside” shot for Brewers outfielder Lewis Brinson to make it back to health in time to impact the current season, per GM David Stearns (via Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, on Twitter). He has been down with a hamstring strain. The 23-year-old struggled upon reaching the majors for the first time this year, but had put up a monster season at Triple-A — where he batted .331/.400/.562 across 340 plate appearances. Brinson will surely be a big part of Milwaukee’s plans next year even if he can’t make it back on the field in 2017.--MLBTR

I don't think Brinson will be utilized for anything other than a PR/PH/defensive replacement if he does make it back.

Wilkerson officially added to the 40 man, Yadi Rivera DFA'd.

Considering they could have just put Nelson on the 60 day DL, this would appear to be a polite move to allow Yadi to possibly be claimed (or traded) and get some major league time. He was out of options anyway, and I certainly do not see a 25 man spot for him in 2018...Sogard is not quite the defender Yadi is, but he's very steady, solid, and is not an offensive hole either. I've had him as the 40th man on the 40 for quite some time, and it appears I am finally right.

I wasn't wrong, I was just early.

Jason Terry wil return, and probably negotiated his way to a fully guaranteed deal by waiting and talking to other teams.

I'm not sure, other than maybe CC Sabathia, was more universally beloved after a single season with a WI based team. Terry is a perfect example of what a player who has made his money and just wants to help a team win can accomplish. He doesn't care if he plays 5 minutes or 35 minutes. In fact, in the final playoff series, he admitted he was beat up and would "play as hard as he could as long as he could" before the final game, admitting he was old and tired.

You can sure tell all the casuals who barely pay attention, wondering why Jeffress is starting when he can only go a couple innings. Suter has started twice of late and he's only went 2-3 frames because he's not stretched out.

Heck, if the Crew was playing the Reds and they had Hamilton and Votto bat 1/2, you could have Wang start and pitch to the first 2 guys and take him out. That would literally freak out folks, but it makes perfect sense.

I began DVRing Outnumbered when Meghan became a host, and intend to continue to do so. Lisa Boothe has been on 3 days in a row, so I'm not sure if she is being groomed to take over or if Tomi Lahren, who seems so likely, it'll never happen.

As I have pointed out numerous times, I've chatted with Meghan many times on Twitter and found her as refreshingly candid and politically incorrect as any human being alive. The fact she is not as thin as most women on TV led her to be labeled as "fat" by many, though she admitted, "No boyfriend has ever complained about my body."
