(9/30/2018 11:31:00 PM) - Al

Matt Arnold linked to Giants' GM job, on MLBTR.

(9/30/2018 11:00:00 PM) - Al

Tom Cotton is very good at simply telling the truth. He forgot to mention her lie about flying, because she needed a few days to get the drugs out of her system and settle on the fable she was going to go with, but hey, no one's perfect.

If you'll lie about flying...

He's 100% right on all these facts. Simply put, they did everything wrong in a dishonest manner, and have gotten almost no pushback for any of it.

I'm embarrassed for them, because I don't think a single one of them is capable of feeling that emotion.

He didn't win did he?---Hank Reid, when asked if it was ethical to lie about Romney's taxes.

9/30/2018 11:00:00 PM

(9/30/2018 10:10:00 PM) - Al

I've said this before, but if it was as easy as sitting down and making a much better deal for American businesses...why wasn't this done years ago?

Oh, now I remember. The previous administration didn't care about people with jobs. Or that owned businesses. Or the successful.

Because they didn't build that, he said condescendingly.

(9/30/2018 09:57:00 PM) - Al

Predicted wildcard game roster
LOCKS-20
Chacin (assuming he is the SP)
Jeffress
Hader
Knebel
Soria
Cedeno
Burnes
Williams

Pina
Kratz

Aguilar
Shaw
Arcia
Moustakas
Schoop
Perez

Braun
Cain
Yelich
Granderson

ALMOST CERTAIN-3
Woodruff
Guerra

Santana

MAYBE
Davies
Miley
Gonzalez
Jennings
Lyles

Saladino
Broxton
Thames

You could make an argument for everyone on the "maybe" line, especially as role players. Do you take another SP in case of injury or a 15 inning game? Broxton as a PR? Thames has not been very good of late, but he's one swing away from breaking out of it. Lyles could take the spot of a SP and is used to pitching out of the bullpen.

Of course, maybe one of the pitchers could go 3 innings tomorrow and not be available.

(9/30/2018 09:00:00 PM) - Al

If she committed perjury or lied while accusing a person of a felony, she is the dictionary definition of a criminal.

9/30/2018 09:00:00 PM

(9/30/2018 08:54:00 PM) - Al

Brewers do not name SP.

Given their desire to start Chacin if there's a wildcard game, that tells me they will probably go with a plethora of relievers, with Freddy Peralta probably pitching the most frames. Might be trying to keep the pressure as low as they can.

They want to have all their high leverage guys available TUE, so most will be limited to one inning.

9/30/2018 08:54:00 PM

(9/30/2018 08:33:00 PM) - Al

1. No they are not.

2. They aren't any less credible than Ford's. At least Avenatti's client told the same story more than once.

9/30/2018 08:33:00 PM

(9/30/2018 08:30:00 PM) - Al

People yelled at me for this back in the 90's. It's hardly a new issue.

For those who have never noticed, women's restrooms are always a bit larger than men's, as stalls need more room than urinals. Some women's have a pair of changing tables and most men's have none.

9/30/2018 08:30:00 PM

(9/30/2018 07:30:00 PM) - Al

Consistency is not their strength.

It's almost as if their concern is manufactured drivel.

9/30/2018 07:30:00 PM

(9/30/2018 07:00:00 PM) - Al

So polte and civil.

So much better than me. So envious.

9/30/2018 07:00:00 PM

(9/30/2018 06:00:00 PM) - Al

It's so obvious, even a crazy broad can see the potential for wealth and fame.

And did.

Last updated with the games of SUN, 9/30.

With luck, I will try to keep this updated daily.

Years ago, Pete Vuckovich was the Brewers' TV color guy, or one of 2-3 that season, I can't recall. For all of his drunken exploits and overall goofy stories involving him that are brought up; he was a pitching coach, pitching coordinator, scout, or assistant to the GM for a variety of MLB teams for the better part of the past 30 years, so he's not some dumb oaf. He was far from a brilliant analyst, as his knowledge was almost entirely talking pitching and pitch selection.

However, one night, almost in passing, the Brewers scored their 4th run of the game, and went up like 4-1 or 4-2. He called that "the run of victory," or something like that. He went onto say, for all but a team or two, the 4th run was key. In fact, he said, almost every club will have a losing record if they score 3, but a winning mark if they score 4. The play by play guy, who I think was Jim Patchke, all but ignored it.

Vuke, probably pushed on by the guys in the truck, as this was like Twain literature compared to his usual drivel, added the same was true for pitching, if you give up 4 or less, you'll probably win, and 5 or more, you'll probably lose. I have always remembered this and have always found it to be 100% accurate...but have never heard another baseball person say it, even 30 years later.

The other thing I'll add is note how much better of a manager Counsell is when his pitchers pitch nicely and/or his hitters score a bunch. It's not a complicated game.

9/30/2018 05:31:00 PM

(9/30/2018 05:00:00 PM) - Al

They're never happy.

They only want to make everyone as miserable as they are.

9/30/2018 05:00:00 PM

(9/30/2018 04:57:00 PM) - Al

Has the Crew ever promoted OnDeck during the previous season?

Winning makes you more aggressive in many ways.

Another thing they will do is openly promote season ticket packages to resellers. They may do that every year, but I promise you they will this offseason, telling them of the untold riches they can make.

9/30/2018 04:57:00 PM

(9/30/2018 04:52:00 PM) - Al

I guarantee you, the young lady to the left of Johnson is smiling at what a nimrod he is.

9/30/2018 04:52:00 PM

(9/30/2018 04:49:00 PM) - Al

Math's a helluva drug.

9/30/2018 04:49:00 PM

(9/30/2018 04:30:00 PM) - Al

Well, that's different.

He was nominated by a Republican.

It's amazing how many of these rubes don't get it.

9/30/2018 04:30:00 PM

(9/30/2018 04:22:00 PM) - Al

Woman denies breaking law because it's in her best interest.

There, I rewrote it for ya. Because the left is very serious about pretending they care.

9/30/2018 04:22:00 PM

(9/30/2018 04:03:00 PM) - Al

The irony? Her claim is infinitely more believable. I don't see anyone raising money for Conway.

All that matters is the letter to the left of your name...to the left at least.

9/30/2018 04:03:00 PM

(9/30/2018 03:47:00 PM) - Al

Trump voters saw it too.

And didn't appreciate being called names as they were struggling financially, by a woman who laughs loudly at awkward times.

9/30/2018 03:47:00 PM

(9/30/2018 02:32:00 PM) - Al

Yelich walks.

Yelich scores.

It's a shame they keep shutting the Crew down like this.

9/30/2018 02:32:00 PM

(9/30/2018 02:16:00 PM) - Al

They don't really need length from Gio. I assume Anderson is the first reliever in. Even with several guys either unavailable or likely unavailable, they still have 8 or 9 guys in the bullpen, including several who can go multiple innings.

9/30/2018 02:16:00 PM

(9/30/2018 01:30:00 PM) - Al

Of course, the left will rip him. It's very damaging to their brand.

They're allowed to do that. A conservative would be called racist.

Related: Bullying is all they got. The results of the past 10 years speak for themselves.

ADDED: He's right. This gives quiet, everyday conservatives someone they can emulate, especially blacks and women, 2 groups that are often called names and ostracized by the "tolerant left" if they dare have beliefs based on common sense and results, rather than emotion and hatred.

One of my clients, a very soft spoken LDS woman, told me last year that many of her friends in the church were having a "tough time warming up to Trump." I'm completely apolitical to my clients, though I will answer honestly if they ask me, but very few do. I asked her why, and she said, "We know he's not perfect, but you know what? No one is." We both agreed with, and then she added, "My goodness, Hillary makes it easy to look past his faults." She then leaned forward and barely whispered to me, "No one likes her. She seems like a terrible person. Have you ever noticed she never smiles?"

I can't really say I had, but after that, I did notice her only smiles were after jokes ripping on her opponent, and, moreso, the deplorables.

9/30/2018 01:30:00 PM

(9/30/2018 12:59:00 PM) - Al

Counsell knows he is the sole person in charge of the careers of these pitchers.

He kind of told everyone his overall beliefs and strategies, if it's an elimination game, everyone is available. If not, they are not.

9/30/2018 12:59:00 PM

(9/30/2018 12:30:00 PM) - Al

A day (or 2) away from the final numbers, but OXS looks to be 2 runs off, or 99.75% accurate at predicting how many runs MLB teams will score this season. 714.2 estimated versus 716 actual.

I'm not saying nothing matters other than OBP and SLG. I'm just saying everything else does not matter much. The keys have been and remain getting on base (not making outs) and driving the ball.

9/30/2018 12:30:00 PM

(9/30/2018 11:30:00 AM) - Al

You see, believe all women only applies when they go after Republicans.

Because shut up.

9/30/2018 11:30:00 AM

(9/30/2018 11:00:00 AM) - Al

All true.

Because they don't give a damn about that crazy woman.

9/30/2018 11:00:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:43:00 AM) - Al

Silly Katrina.

Booker's a Dem. He can do whatever he wants. See Clinton, Bill.

9/30/2018 10:43:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:40:00 AM) - Al

Sophia points out the Crew was 6 games behind the Cubs...on AUG28.

As BA has pointed out in a halfhearted manner, this is a different team than they had in late JUL. Since then, Moustakas, Schoop, Soria, Gio, Cedeno, Granderson, Santana, Davies, and Woodruff have been added. Not only has it helped the everyday lineup, the bench and depth have been improved dramatically. Small market teams can rarely handle injuries or ineffectiveness. This team can, and has.

9/30/2018 10:40:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:30:00 AM) - Al

A woman speaks up for men?

Well, I guess I better believe her.

9/30/2018 10:30:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:29:00 AM) - Al

The fact that Ford has made $700k on GoFundMe is not lost on the masses.

The quest for cash is real.

9/30/2018 10:29:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:26:00 AM) - Al

This is very meaningful, because the Brewers' audience will be far smaller. In 2008, it was 6 to 1 Packers on TV.

I'm not sure if this is TMJ doing what they feel is the right thing or if it is possibly a contractual obligation.

9/30/2018 10:26:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:20:00 AM) - Al

I'll put up my guess for the wildcard roster tonight...unless they win and the Cubs lose today.

9/30/2018 10:20:00 AM

(9/30/2018 10:14:00 AM) - Al

Adam shared that the Crew had sold "mid 30's" as of yesterday for today's game, but now expect 40k or more.

9/30/2018 10:14:00 AM

(9/30/2018 09:52:00 AM) - Al

Homophobia is ok if the left does it.

The new rules are exhausting.

9/30/2018 09:52:00 AM

(9/30/2018 09:43:00 AM) - Al

They're not smart enough to realize when you assign a date to a fictional party, it just gives the ability for the wrongly accused to alibi. Even worse, you'd think they could easily locate a house where there was a party...but they can't.

Coincidence.

Funny how that happens when you choose a date out of a hat.

As pointed out at the link, the only thing this faux investigation is likely to uncover is if Feinstein or Ford leaked everything to "friendly, don't bother with the lack of evidence" media. Of course, if they do report that, both women lack any credibility anyway, so one more fib will hardly even matter.

9/30/2018 09:43:00 AM

(9/30/2018 09:37:00 AM) - Al

If you just watched the old media, you'd never know they existed.

Note how little we've heard about those hundreds of women that clerked for him that said what a perfect gentleman he was. Does not fit the narrative.

Even worse, they don't change their story every time they tell it.

You don't need a good memory when you tell the truth.

9/30/2018 09:37:00 AM

(9/30/2018 09:00:00 AM) - Al

Notice no one has even mentioned they had plenty of time to investigate if Feinstein doesn't hide the letter for months. But that's not what this is about. It's all about the delay.

Why do women lie about being pregnant? So the supposed dad does not leave. Every day they delay, there's always a chance he'll stay. Same idea.

Also, Ford either committed perjury by saying she did not leak the letter or Feinstein lied about it. Given the FBI's history with Hillary, they already have a letter clearing both of them, waiting to be signed and dated. That's right, some of us remember.

Doesn't fit the narrative. Ssssshhhhh.

9/30/2018 09:00:00 AM

(9/30/2018 08:35:00 AM) - Al

Counsell said in his presser last night the bullpen would be different today. As I have pointed out, they might have to play today, MON, and TUE. Jeffress, Knebel, Burnes, and so on will not be available (and if they were, probably would not be effective) pitching 5 days in a row.

The strange thing is, this is an example of how strategy may be dictated by the score of the Cubs' game...if they're ahead 5-0 or behind 5-0 early, the late innings could look completely different.

9/30/2018 08:35:00 AM

(9/30/2018 06:00:00 AM) - Al

Heh.

They know it. They just don't like it.

It keeps them from doing stupid things. It's working just as it was intended.

That's why they don't like it.

9/30/2018 06:00:00 AM

(9/30/2018 03:30:00 AM) - Al

This is true all over.

It's directly related to the awful health care in the USA that Obamacare was going to fix by bringing socialized medicine into the best system in the world.

It's also directly related to the fact retirees are very wealthy, or at least very comfortable, because of the bloated Social Security system. The elderly vote.

9/30/2018 03:30:00 AM

(9/30/2018 01:00:00 AM) - Al

If I didn't know better, I'd say they were liars.

By the way, Ford could not be there Monday because she was afraid to fly...so she flew in Wednesday. Liars gonna lie.

Doesn't take long to investigate a crime that never happened, that no witnesses will corroborate, never mind the complainant is mentally ill.

No police report, no medicals, no evidence. It's a 90 second Criminal Minds episode.  In this case, 84 seconds of it would be Morgan flirting with Penelope.

(9/29/2018 10:30:00 PM) - Al

Graham's speech would have been perfect had he ended it with a To Kill A Mockingbird reference.

That due process stuff is overrated. Accusations with no evidence except the rantings of a crazy broad are about as much of a stretch as one can imagine.

The irony? It hasn't changed a single vote, as of yet. 40-45 Dems were going to oppose anyone the president nominated. Remember, Schumer said the entire list was awful. Why? They all believe in the Constitution.

9/29/2018 10:30:00 PM

(9/29/2018 10:00:00 PM) - Al

That's a shame.

9/29/2018 10:00:00 PM

(9/29/2018 09:54:00 PM) - Al

Gio Gonzalez will start SUN, though that doesn't mean he'll pitch long.

9/29/2018 09:54:00 PM

(9/29/2018 09:51:00 PM) - Al

They're hoping people forget what they are doing here.

I hope they do not.

9/29/2018 09:51:00 PM

(9/29/2018 08:30:00 PM) - Al

If this is indeed the case, and I would also assume it is, they will never need to wonder again why mean of all races abandon the party.

9/29/2018 08:30:00 PM

(9/29/2018 05:30:00 PM) - Al

The party of Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy are very concerned about alcohol use...35+ years ago. Imagine how upset they'd be if he'd have driven off a bridge and killed a young woman, and then left her to die while he ran off to not report it to the police.

It's easy to change your mind when you don't believe in anything.

Of course, they were for it before they were against it. One even bragged about changing his vote. Because shut up.

9/29/2018 05:30:00 PM

(9/29/2018 04:00:00 PM) - Al

Not only have I been told these women do not exist, note how well spoken and intelligent her position is.

9/29/2018 04:00:00 PM

(9/29/2018 03:30:00 PM) - Al

So, you see, they need an investigation, but it doesn't matter what it says.

Heh. I told you so. If I did not know better, I'd say this was just a fictional delay tactic.

After all, if the world ends soon, THEY win!

9/29/2018 03:30:00 PM

(9/29/2018 03:10:00 PM) - Al

Cards win. Brewers will be tied if they win and 1 game out if they lose tonight.

9/29/2018 03:10:00 PM

(9/29/2018 03:00:00 PM) - Al

Heh.

If she would have been unattractive, they would defend the photo until the end of days.

It's tough keeping up with the new rules. Negative people are going to negative about everything. They're too busy being miserable, and hope to make everyone else miserable too.

I'm so silly, I believe if a woman is proud of her body and wants to show it off, she should have every right to do so. Being consistent isn't that hard when you actually, you know, have beliefs that don't change every time the breeze does.

9/29/2018 03:00:00 PM

(9/29/2018 02:30:00 PM) - Al

The jackals have turned on each other.

9/29/2018 02:30:00 PM

(9/29/2018 02:00:00 PM) - Al

I've been told women never lie, but in this case, I have 2 women telling diferent stories.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to figure out which one is the conservative so I can blame them.

9/29/2018 02:00:00 PM

(9/29/2018 01:48:00 PM) - Al

If nothing else, we should have figured out those postseason percentages are not only wrong, but totally made up just to fool rubes into quoting them. The Cards had a higher percentage of making the playoffs despite the Crew being several games ahead around the all star break. I decided then they were obviously fictional, and stopped looking at them.

It appears they didn't improve them at all.

9/29/2018 01:48:00 PM

(9/29/2018 01:39:00 PM) - Al

Adams hits the nail on the head once again.

Remember, they did not get upset at all when Hilary yelled about 4 dead Americans. They give less than a damn about everything except power.

Also true. And if they were Republicans, they deserved it.

9/29/2018 01:39:00 PM

(9/29/2018 01:23:00 PM) - Al

Well, it's progress.

9/29/2018 01:23:00 PM

(9/29/2018 01:00:00 PM) - Al

Who we kidding?

They all do.

He lost didn't he?--Hank Reid, justifying lying about Romney's taxes

While using a mentally ill woman to lie about her past 36 years ago, you would think they have hit rock bottom.

Heh. Wait until next time. And the time after that.

9/29/2018 01:00:00 PM

(9/29/2018 12:00:00 PM) - Al

Clay should realize that evidence makes no difference.

He's guilty of being a Republican.

9/29/2018 12:00:00 PM

(9/29/2018 10:54:00 AM) - Al

Yelich is +4 DRS and 0 UZR. His numbers have always been weak in CF, but very good in LF and RF.

The Brewers are +91 in DRS, 2nd in MLB; 9th in UZR at 25.7; and 5th in Def. Defensive metrics are still a bit troublesome, as it seems like Yelich is very solid defensively, and should be well above average. Adam Jones won Gold Gloves and never had plus metrics. Shifting plays havoc with the numbers, as it seems to artificially boost teams that shift effectively.

The funny thing is, no one even mentions the Crew's defense. We hear tons about their offense and a lot about their pitching, particularly the bullpen.

3rd in SLG (NL only)
5th in road SLG
7th in OBP
6th in OPS
7th in runs scored
1st in SB
1st in SB%
T14th in sacrifice bunts
8th in walks

5th in ERA
2nd in relief ERA

The irony here is, the Brewers are really good at 4 things...team defense, relief pitching, stealing bases while not making outs, and hitting for extra bases. The odd thing is, for the most part, only 1 of the 4 ever gets mentioned.

For the most part, the key to this team is the simple fact they do everything decently. When you don't have any warts, you don't have to be that good looking to be, well, good looking.

9/29/2018 10:54:00 AM

(9/29/2018 10:00:00 AM) - Al

Maybe they can call the CSI team...oh wait, she doesn't remember what house it was...how she got there, or how she got home.

Good luck.

9/29/2018 10:00:00 AM

(9/29/2018 09:48:00 AM) - Al

Looking at their expected wins based on runs scored and allowed, the Brewers should be one game up on the Cards. But, in reality, they're 6.

Luck is far better than skill.

1 run games: 32-19
2+ run games: 61-48

13 games over in both situations.

9/29/2018 09:48:00 AM

(9/29/2018 09:25:00 AM) - Al

The Bucks just tweeted out you can watch their intrasquad scrimmage today on Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms.

I can also watch the neighbors mow their lawn . If I go down to the river, I can watch people bait their hook.

Doesn't mean I'm gonna.

9/29/2018 09:25:00 AM

(9/29/2018 09:13:00 AM) - Al

The truth does not matter when you're hell bent on world domination.

Let's not forget, their messiah insisted you could keep your own doctor and/or your own plan hundreds of times and said the average person would save $2500 a year on premiums, both lies of mammoth proportions that were peddled and years later, are still not brought up by the old media because they're so damaging.

Once you lie a few thousand times, it becomes second nature.

9/29/2018 09:13:00 AM

(9/29/2018 09:00:00 AM) - Al

The Republicans didn't. A spineless attention whore did.

As Graham said, they need 50 votes. One of them might have to be Flake's.

And, beating the hell out of them and leaving them for dead is not legal.*

*Unless, of course, you're a Kennedy or a Clinton. Then they had it coming.

9/29/2018 09:00:00 AM

100% true.

Even more damning is the fact he's a complete girlie man. It's easy to change your mind if you don't believe in anything.

It'd be easier to point out the news that was real at this point.

One of the negatives of a free press is the penalty for lying is all but nonexistent. And they know it.

With the Cubs winning today, the Crew could be eliminated as early as before tomorrow night's game. The Cubs most likely scenario still has them winning 95 games, meaning the Crew would have to go 3-0 versus the Tigers just to force a 163rd game MON.

Obviously, the loser of that game is unlikely to go into the TUE wildcard game with a bullpen at 100%. In that way, the #1 seed would be very likely to be far less rested than the #2 seed, barring the #2 seed having to play a game MON as well.

(9/28/2018 04:05:00 PM) - Al

All just politics.

And if the GOP fails to get Kavanaugh through, it will likely be very difficult to spur all but the most dedicated voters to the polls. When you're stuck with fools like Flake in office, looking for a paying gig on one of the liberal networks as a token conservative, you really don't deserve it.

Flake spent most of the summer overseas, leaving AZ without a senator. Both should have resigned, but both were so hungry for attention, they wanted to stay in the spotlight.

Attention whores whoring for attention...go figure.

Lots of positive thoughts about my quote about a former girlfriend I posted last night. Sadly, I did not date enough to have a lot of material. But, here's one before the weekend.

This is another of my favorites. We had been dating for a few weeks, maybe a month at this point.

Me: So, do you wanna get some supper?

{Editor's note, yes, I called it supper. Because I'm a hick from a small town.}

Her: Sure. I'd love that.

Me: Mexican, ok? We've never had that, is that OK?

Her: Fine. But, just so you know, I like Taco Bell a lot more than Taco John's. But, I mean, I will eat Taco John's. I guess it's up to you.

Me: Uh, I was kinda thinking Chi Chi's.

Her: (looks at me like I offered to buy her a house) I've...never been to Chi Chi's. But sure, I...I would love to go there. Thank you.

Me: By the way, I like both Taco John's and Taco Bell.

Her: (silence for about 10 seconds) Oh, yeah...great. (pause) I, I just can't believe you're taking me to Chi Chi's.

{fast forward to the next day}

Her: So, last night, I went home, and I put my to go box in the refrigerator. And my roommates are like, where did you go? And I said, Chi Chi's. So, they are all said, "He took you to Chi Chi's? You haven't even slept with him yet." So, they all think you're a keeper.

I was mighty impressive if they had low enough expectations.

Flake milking his 15 minutes of fame. He has no idea he's a laughingstock. He may be the biggest attention whore of them all. What a putz.

The mentions that he is considering a run for president in 2020 is pure hilarity. This is the same guy who did not run for reelection in AZ because he knew that not only would he not win the general election, that he would not win the primary.

I admit, watching some FBI dude read off a statement that, using lots of $10 words and phrases, says, "Um, there's no evidence at all except some publicity seeking liberal who has never told the same story twice after waiting 36 years to tell anyone," would be kind of funny.

As Graham says, you need 50 votes. If they need Flake, they'll have to ask him what it will take. If they don't, they'll tell him to go to hell.

As many have forgotten, Doug started the rebuild. That Yo trade for Knebel (and Diplan, who is also on the 40 and was in AA this season) was effectively the first move to tear it down.

The trade that brought 4 players from the Astros was one of the best trades in Brewers' history. Stearns has certainly had a plan and worked it every day, but Melvin laid the sub basement.

9/28/2018 12:47:00 PM

(9/28/2018 10:41:00 AM) - Al

Mets want to, or possibly already have, want to sit down with Doug Melvin about GM position.

I can't link, but Nj.com has the tale of you wish to read it.

Doug is 66 and has said many times is very happy being a senior advisor to Stearns. He has stepped out of the spotlight and rarely talks to media. When he does, he speaks of time off and relaxing. I struggle to believe he would want to take over a team, though maybe he would like to give it one more shot of 3-5 seasons. The Mets' pitching is tempting, though they have had said pitching and lost for several years.

If he would return, hiring a young assistant and having a public succession plan would make a lot of sense.

9/28/2018 10:41:00 AM

(9/28/2018 10:00:00 AM) - Al

If they do, DC deserves it.

If BK is confirmed, we will once again see proof the USA is a place for fighters and tough talkers. And not wussies.

It's like this: Women will say they like the quiet guy who turns the other cheek. You know, with a sense of humor.

In reality, they like the guy who punches out the fella that tells her that dress she's wearing would look better on his bedroom floor.

Nothing the left hates more than when the GOP fights back and does the unthinkable. They do exactly what the left does every single time.

(9/28/2018 06:00:00 AM) - Al

Other than that.

Remember, a few years ago, the CA GOP begged Dennis Miller to run for US Senate. He was flattered, and considered it for a while. Then, he said, he realized that not only would he be away from his family for a good chunk of the year, he would have to work with a complete hack like Feinstein all the time.

As Glenn Reynolds says when people ask him why he doesn't run for political office...he's afraid he would win.

If you can eliminate all the good people...that's part of the left's strategy.

Much like Bigfoot or Yeti, an example of a mythical creature many insist do not exist. A woman who, you know, looks at the evidence and knows inconsistent stories are historically unreliable. Her witnesses all have no memory of her version of what happened. That does not mean they're all evil liars. That means she is probably lying or greatly exaggerating.

Duke lacrosse. U of Virginia. Salem witch trials. McManus daycare. Dozens more in the past few months.

Every time an allegation turns out to be untrue, they respond with an open mouth and like it's never happened before. It's mind numbingly fake and once again, shows that if rewriting history is a common occurrence, you may wish to question the history of your party.

Remember how they smeared Pence for being faithful to his wife? Because they're unbiased.

I always took all my new people out to lunch back when I helped train them. Luckily for me, I'm not wealthy enough or good looking enough for any young women to say I did something inappropriate.

Or men, for that matter.

(9/27/2018 10:49:00 PM) - Al

Heh.

As you can imagine, I was forced to read the bible and say 45 minutes of prayers before typing this up.

I'll never forget a conversation I had with my first serious girlfriend:

Me: You know, I'll always treat you with respect.

Her: If I wanted respect, I wouldn't be dating. Shut up and kiss me. And then, buy me dinner.

I was so offended, we dated on and off for a year and a half.

In fact, our last date was the SAT before I took the now Rambling wife out for our first date on SUN evening.

(9/27/2018 10:45:00 PM) - Al

People can change their mind, but this is why they scheduled a vote. Manchin's name is very surprising. The rumor that other Dems will change sides if their vote is meaningless is also...but not shocking, given that you know full well many feel the same way as Graham.

Also seeing new whispers of Manchin being open to changing parties before JAN...if he can come to a "deal" with the president and GOP. That would mean more cash and benefits for WV, if you'll recall the NE carve out buying their votes for Obamacare.

9/27/2018 10:45:00 PM

(9/27/2018 10:16:00 PM) - Al

Cubs have 1 more win than the Crew. The most likely outcome of their series is them winning 2 of 3. The Brewers would have to win 4 in a row to win the division (3 Tigers, 1 Cubs). If they have a 60% chance versus DET and 50% versus CHC, that's 11%, or 1 of 9.

They would also be playing their 5th "need to win" game in a row TUE if they would lose that 163rd game, which they would be underdogs for. The odds of Hader, Jeffress, Soria, Knebel, and Burnes being at full strength for said 5th game is very close to nil.

I'm not saying to not play to win SUN/MON if it comes down to that. However, I would not play those like a 1 game wildcard either. I get the feeling Stearns and the braintrust have run simulations and will discuss the results with Counsell.

However, at the end of the day, it would be CC's call.

9/27/2018 10:16:00 PM

(9/27/2018 10:00:00 PM) - Al

The left thinks the end always justifies the means.

Reading W is calling GOP senators tonight encouraging support for BK. To some, W is far more important than the president. Remember, the Bush family is the epitome of DC elites. To a few senators, that would be the equivalent of a huge rebellion.

9/27/2018 10:00:00 PM

(9/27/2018 08:13:00 PM) - Al

Wow, real money markets think BK won huge today. Was 49% to win before testimony, 19% now.

Those tend to be extremely good indicators of public opinion, as this is their own money people are wagering.

Hearing Collins and Murkowski are the only 2 many are worried about. Some feel Flake would vote against Jesus Christ if President Trump chose him, but have not seen his name mentioned today.

EDIT: Since I posted, 49 or less is up to 24%, and 53 is way up in the past 30 minutes. I wonder if someone announced how they were voting?

EDIT 2: Emailers pointing out this site even more favorable. Also, one gent says while it went up after BK testified, it skyrocketed after Graham's outburst. Many feeling that while LG talked sternly and openly about Dems, he was really talking to GOP holdouts that were on the fence.

LG has historically been very moderate, so his fierce words, to many at least, basically was him all but telling any Republican senators still fence sitting that if they vote no, they're dead to him.

If the GOP does get 50 or 51, that would allow Manchin, Heitkamp, or another Dem either behind in the polls or from a conservative state to vote for BK.

You know, when you don't really believe in anything, it's easy to go in not knowing which way you're going to end up voting.

Can you imagine? It's like a wedding where the groom isn't sure if he'll marry the bride or her sister. Oof.

EDIT 3: Reading that lots feel the GOP would not have scheduled the vote without 50+ promised "yes" votes, which makes sense. If they had 48 yes and 3 not sure, they would have waited. That likely pushed those markets upward as well.

9/27/2018 08:13:00 PM

(9/27/2018 07:28:00 PM) - Al

To be fair, weeknights are always the highest rated. It isn't summer anymore so people are not outside. And it was a clinching game, and it was over before the late local news and many people's bedtimes. Tuesday night has basically no competition from TV sports.

2 people on my social media said they watched the end of the game and had no idea the Brewers were on the verge of a playoff spot until last night. One only watched because "her show" did not start until next week. Also, several said they fell asleep or had to go to bed.

{And admittedly, I was disappointed Criminal Minds did not premiere last night.}

Perfect storm.

9/27/2018 07:28:00 PM

(9/27/2018 07:16:00 PM) - Al

Half right. All we learned from today's fiasco is Booker is an incredible hypocrite, as he has admitted being guilty of what Kavanaugh's accuser suddenly remembered when the Dems went searching for dirty laundry.

That and Lindsey Graham, now free of his bondage of a McCain friendship, can say exactly what the rest of us were thinking, is suddenly a man who is not going to take it anymore.

Always sad to see the jackals go after each other. They're cannibals you know.

And let's hope this is true.

It has caffeine. That's a stimulant. I was still awake at 2AM.

She's one of the most despicable people on the planet.

Not one witness she named has any recollection of this mythical party, and none of them remember her and Kavanaugh ever meeting. She herself changed key points of her story and her official written statement.

You don't need a good memory when you tell the truth. When you make everything up on the fly, you do. She's the devil herself.

Lost amongst everything else is how much the coaches profit from a postseason berth. I believe a full share for the wildcard loser is about $20K. That doesn't mean squat to Cain and Braun, that's probably what they tip the clubhouse guys at the end of a campaign; but to Ed Sedar and Marcus Hanel, it is a huge difference, probably equivalent to a 25-40% bonus.

You may have missed in the hubbub of excitement last night.

The Cards walked Yelich 5 times last night. Yelich scored both runs.

Giving the opponent extra baserunners and hoping it shuts them down is a fool's proposition.

If you pitch to Yelich, by far the most likely outcome is an out. The 2nd most likely outcome is a single. It's just math.

One of the main reasons I'm on my 48th consecutive "semester off" from college is because I got tired of getting up early to hear it was great that since I worked 2 jobs I was taxed at a higher rate than the other students that worked 5 hours a week.

Dodgers now lead 2nd wildcard spot by a game over Cards.

Brewers will either be a game behind the Cubs or tied after Cubs/Pirates play tomorrow. They will finally have the same amount of games played...I think the Crew had played 6 more at one point.

9/27/2018 12:47:00 AM

(9/27/2018 12:41:00 AM) - Al

Dodgers lose, so Brewers will be either division winner or top wildcard team.

For ticketholders, that means at least one home game.

9/27/2018 12:41:00 AM

(9/27/2018 12:01:00 AM) - Al

I thought of something a couple days ago.

A question that has no right or wrong answer...if they have to play a 163rd game for the division on MON, and then the loser plays the wildcard game TUE...how do you play MON?

Do you go all out and use all your best relievers for as long as you need to? Or do you limit them to an inning or so, leaving them available and near full strength for the next day? I think most folks would go with the first option; but an all your eggs in one basket scenario does not appeal to me. Odds are, you're not going to win the 2nd game 9-1, as the opponent will not save anyone, and will be better rested than the Crew.

As I point out every chance I get, the playoffs are a crapshoot. Even if a team is far better, and will win each series 2/3rd's of the time, they still will only win the title about 30% of the time. It's just math. Add in that wildcard game, it falls to about 20%.

Even if Knebel, Hader, Jeffress, and so on could probably pitch 2 innings one day and come back for an inning the next (or even 4-6 outs, in theory), they would probably not be at 100%.

Of course, adding to the confusion? The result SUN may well determine if the game is needed MON, so assuming the bullpen will be at 100% for the MON game may be incorrect as well.

Hi folks. I have a question for anyone with knowledge of an analytics employee for the Brewers. I have a reader who is doing a career presentation on this, and wonders what a "normal" work schedule is for someone who works in the analytics department. He/she would like one of two things:

1. The hours they work, in season and offseason.

2. If not #1, someone they can contact with the team who can answer it, or put him/her in contact with someone.

Email or Twitter will work, thanks in advance.

Jesus really speaks English well for a guy who I assume speaks it as a second language. Heck, he speaks far better than myself most of the time.

(9/26/2018 09:53:00 PM) - Al

I did find it surprising that Yelich mentioned Kratz by name in his article he wrote. Even moreso than he's a career AAA catcher; he joined the team well after the season started.

(9/26/2018 09:49:00 PM) - Al

An awful lot of people I do not recognize in the locker room. Nice that Mark A and the team apparently had many team employees travel to SL for this.

O'Neill must be dead red. He didn't come within a foot of hitting any of those breaking balls. Looked like they handed me a bat and put me up there as a joke.

(9/26/2018 09:31:00 PM) - Al

Pretty subdued celebration.

They think they can win the division. That will be the big one.

She's a far lefty?

What a coincidence!

Ask me what I did 2-3 years after high school, and I'll tell you I went to HS parties. Because, that's how cool I was.

(9/26/2018 08:18:00 PM) - Al

Everyone is forgetting to mention the Dodgers' game, which is just as important as the Rockies' contest. It's kind of snuck up on folks.

EDIT: Spell check doesn't think so, but "snuck" is the past tense of sneak, or is accepted as such in North American English, per Oxford.

(9/26/2018 07:00:00 PM) - Al

When people hear of dairy farms leaving the business, many of us think of small 25-100 cow herds. The large auction house about 45 minutes from me has offerings of 475 and 650 head operations next month (in addition to a 150 head sale after a farm accident took the life of an operator).

Of course, something to remember, while the numbers of farms is declining, the number of cattle is the same or going slightly up. Truly survival of the fittest.

(9/26/2018 05:24:00 PM) - Al

When a team has success, others start poaching away underlings.

How do you think the Crew ended up with Stearns and Arnold?

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Pat Murphy get interviews as well. His Padres' teams were awful, he was stuck in year 0 and 1 of a rebuild that shows little sign of ending.

9/26/2018 05:24:00 PM

If you're looking for tickets for this weekend, best be online right now. Both FRI and SAT look to have just a couple thousand tickets or so remaining.

Far more for SUN however, I assume that is directly related to the Packers' conflict.

Scott Adams reminds us that given the opportunity to do so, lawyers coach victims to create a case. Sometimes, what appears to be true is just a bunch of hooey.

Many Dems would be wise to read the recap of the McMartin case, a perfect storm of people being declared guilty for the better part of a decade, before the lengthy court case, despite $15M being spent, resulted in perjury, parents and children lying; with the media insisting this was, stop me if you've heard this before, the end of the world as we know it, though not a single defendant was convicted of a single charge.

Of course, it did result in lives being ruined, businesses being lost, and reputations destroyed.

As Hank Reid would say, "It worked didn't it?"

The truth is collateral damage. It's all about the politics of the moment.

So, the latest gal that has decided to step forward says she saw Kavanaugh at parties. She also says she partied while knowing women were being gang raped in another room. She says after going to these parties for years (???) she was assaulted, but does not name Kavanaugh as a guilty party. Predictably (to those of us with an ounce of common sense, but not to her, who expected to be hailed a liberal hero) she is being heavily criticized for doing nothing to stop attacks, and folks are asking why she kept going to these get togethers if she knew of attacks.

She also used a great deal of the letter to not so humble brag about her titles and accomplishments.

These incredibly weak accusations have accomplished nothing except unite the right.

In summary, painfully weak.

BUMP/EDIT: As many are pointing out, she admits to not reporting as felony, but does not really say BK is guilty of anything. She needs a better lawyer.

(9/25/2018 11:33:00 PM) - Al

I'm seeing a lot of confusion online...the Brewers have not mathematically clinched a playoff spot, however, they have clinched at least a 163rd game. Meaning their worst case scenario is a one game playoff with the Cards for the 2nd wildcard spot (or some sort of 3 way battle with the Rockies/Dodgers, Cards, and Brewers)...that would mean the Crew would lose every game the rest of the way, SL wins every game, and the Rockies would lose 0 or 1 the rest of the way.

Fangraphs has the Crew at 100%, which is incorrect mathematically, but you'd literally have to have about 16 games all go a certain way, and the Dodgers also win 3 or more of their last 5.

I had a dream last night/this morning that the Brewers won 12-3, and Woodruff went the last 3 or 4 innings and got a save.

I was terribly disappointed when I realized that the game had not been played yet.

Turns out, I missed it by a run.

(9/25/2018 10:43:00 PM) - Al

Barnes has been mediocre it seems, but when you look at his numbers, especially his peripherals, he would be the 2nd or 3rd best reliever on several teams.

The fact he seems so average shows how good the bullpen has been.

Ryan Braun just produced the 31st multi-HR game of his career and third this season (also 6/8 at Phi and 8/14 at ChC).--Brewers' PR

31? Goodness.

Good time to get hot. He might be one of the healthiest guys on the team, barring a tight back or whatever.

Sadly, 100% true.

Baseless, without any facts accusations like this could, and will, be done to anyone at anytime for any reason. No police report has ever been filed, to me, any attempt to speak of wrongdoing is ludicrous.

Of course, no one is pretending this is a crime. Just politics the Dem way.

(9/25/2018 02:04:00 PM) - Al

Let's take the above and add a fourth team -- the Cardinals -- into the mix. Two games would take place Oct. 1 -- the Dodgers-Rockies game to determine the NL West winner and a game between the Cardinals and Brewers to determine who advances to the Wild Card round. The losers of those two games would then face each other Oct. 2 (with the same tiebreaker rules applied to determine home field) to decide who faces the winner of the Cardinals-Brewers game in the NL Wild Card Game on Oct. 3 (again, with the same previously stated home-field advantage rules applied).--MLB.com

And yes, this is the exact opposite as what we were told last week.

9/25/2018 02:04:00 PM

Well, if we punish the successful and switch over to ineffective, more expensive health care; Bernie and Alex would call it utopia.

A decade ago, Venezuela was in an economy very similar to the USA's current boom. Now, you have to be a millionaire to buy bread, and toilet paper is a luxury.

Unexpectedly.

The most wonderful thing about it, and almost all of his speeches, is the complete and total lack of an apology for the unabashed greatness of the United States of America.

We're powerful, we love freedom, and we're better than you.

If you're offended by this, maybe you should work on improving your own country, so it doesn't suck so badly in comparison.

Yesterday, I linked a video about a fancy calf raising facility.

Today, a robot does a job that I never knew existed. This thing doesn't even look that expensive, though it's probably far more than I would guess.

ADDED: I cannot find any for sale, but on a message board, a gent said his cost $21k. I was guessing $3-4k. Shows you what I know.

9/25/2018 10:00:00 AM

I read this a while ago, and could not figure out why they would do this. I still can't.

The article I read basically said "they want to do business with people that do not need to lose weight." I almost get the feeling they're afraid to offend people. Hey, we know we're fat. If it was easy to lose weight, we would.

I've never heard of anyone refusing to go to AA because they're afraid to admit they drink too much. That's kind of a first step.

(9/25/2018 12:16:00 AM) - Al

Craig looked like he does not feel good about the state of his bullpen for tomorrow. Knebel and Soria have pitched 3 in a row, Burnes 2 in a row, and Jeffress/Hader are questionable (I assume Hader is unavailable, though given the situation, I would not put it past him to say he can pitch to one batter).

Obviously, they're not worried about tomorrow during the game, but they might well need some guys to step up, like Woodruff, Barnes, or Lyles.

Correction: Knebel has pitched 3 of the last 4, not 3 in a row. I assume he will get the 9th again if Jeffress is out.

(9/24/2018 11:42:00 PM) - Al

Seeing people online saying they're almost sick watching the game.

No less than 2 people on my social media said they turned it off because they're too nervous.

You know, if you don't enjoy it, don't watch it. Geesh, enjoy the battles. The Cards made 2 or 3 very nice defensive plays tonight. They made a couple mistakes. Tip your cap, or smile at the breaks.

9/24/2018 11:42:00 PM

(9/24/2018 11:07:00 PM) - Al

9/24/2018 09:13:00 PM

(9/24/2018 08:42:00 PM) - Al

Williams has a 523 OPSA versus RH bats. They're just playing the splits versus the RH heavy Cards'  lineup.

9/24/2018 08:42:00 PM

(9/24/2018 08:27:00 PM) - Al

FP had a 404 OPSA versus RH bats this season. Took some pressure off him, and kept the Cards from putting a couple more lefties in. Media all puzzled.

Good strategery, especially if it works. Too bad the Crew didn't score 12 and allow him to go 5+ and get a W.

9/24/2018 08:27:00 PM

(9/24/2018 07:54:00 PM) - Al

Peralta hits for himself, albeit with one out and no one on base.

So, other than the Jennings/Carpenter matchup, it's basically just like Freddy starting. Almost like they were just trying to limit the pressure on FP.

I wonder if the Cards have poor numbers versus high velocity arms. Or good numbers versus medium velocity arms.

9/24/2018 07:54:00 PM

(9/24/2018 07:17:00 PM) - Al

Peralta and Jennings getting loose.

Given Freddy's poor 1st innings, he seems like a strange choice, though I recall saying months ago he might be effective in the playoffs as a reliever.

Unexpectedly.

Being so damn wimpy simply does not work. That's why our president's approval is even higher.

Why vote Republican to give them the majority when they struggle to get anything done even when they have the majority?

Believe 36 year old claims by crazy broads even though he was out of town? They deserve to lose if they listen to such foolishness. They should have already voted.

I just hope the ladies don't come after me now...

Next time, they need to craft their lies a bit better. This is why cops don't investigate 36 year old crimes.

9/24/2018 05:21:00 PM

(9/24/2018 03:33:00 PM) - Al

Jennings will start versus the Cards tonight.

Assuming they will have him face Carpenter, if of course, the Cards choose to bat him 1st. How much more than that is anyone's guess.

EDIT: Cards announce Carpenter and then all RH hitters. They don't seem very concerned. I assume Jennings will face one hitter and be replaced by Anderson or Woodruff.

9/24/2018 03:33:00 PM

(9/24/2018 03:17:00 PM) - Al

This is what I talked about this AM. If the GOP can't get anything done and find a spine with a majority, they won't have one for long.

This is why McCain and Romney lost. Voters stayed home because they saw little difference between them and the Dems.

2 thoughts after watching this video on a modern calf raising facility.

1. One way to get more young men interested in agriculture? Have more young women in ag that are lovely and well spoken like the gal in the video.

2. I think most farmers have a set up something like this, right? Heh.

Brit Hume pretty much tells it all...the NY Times, who have shown repeatedly they will print anything with a liberal slant, refused to bother with this, as Ramirez spent much of the past week calling and asking people if they could confirm it was Kavanaugh, because she was too drunk to remember.

It's almost as if this is just a smokescreen...

Rambling wife: OK, the packages I picked out the Rambling son's school pictures come to $36.

Me: Good God, $36?!

RW: Well, I need all those sizes so everyone gets the one they want.

Me: I just don't understand why pictures of our son costs $36. We could go buy pictures of a model and they wouldn't be anywhere near $36.

Rambling son hangs his head in shame...

Sometimes, I may be a tad bit too honest.

It's almost as if they "created" a controversy where none exists.

Are we better than that? Not only am I not sure, a good deal of the doubt comes from John McCain's no vote on Obamacare, after voting dozens of times to kill it, and campaigning against it nonstop during his last campaign.

McCain was incredibly unpopular in AZ because of that selfish, ridiculous vote (Flake had an approval rating in the teens when he decided not to run for reelection, and I saw many Arizonians say in comment sections and on message boards that he was far less disliked than McCain).

However, given the adoration piled upon him upon his death, perhaps there's no better proof of our short memories. It also seems to prove something that is a relatively recent phenomenon...it is better to be famous than good.

Would most folks rather create an inexpensive drug that helps the millions that suffer from high blood pressure, or the guy on the reality show that burps really loud? Hey, everyone knows the burper.

If 2 of the GOP senators (and Flake is almost certain to, just because his future in politics involves asking people with a clue if they want coffee or water) give into McCarthyism and vote against Kavanaugh because, well, you know, he could not prove a negative (which, of course, is impossible); they will deserve to lose the midterms. But that voter will be well known. Everyone will know their name.

Why should anyone bother to change out of their comfy, stay at home clothes and go vote when both parties are unprincipled hacks, willing to, after a week of prep time, to go on national TV and say the presumption of innocence does not apply if they're a damn conservative?

I think it's just in their best interests. When you live in the greatest country in the history of the world, and your platform is all about how many changes need to be made, well, it helps to play to the miserable and negative.

Obama spent 8 years insisting America was terrible and a dump. His wife said she had never been proud of it until her husband was elected. That, of course, went over like a fart in church to those of us who love and adore the USA.

Negative nellie votes count just as much as any others.

I think I said last week that I was seeing a very fired up base and tons of disgust.

I still am.

If this is what it takes to get the laid back and easy going, too busy "counting their money in this economic boom to bother getting too excited about this midterm," good.

I must admit, catering to such foolishness and "hey, I just remembered 35 years ago" stupidity stinks to high heaven, but hopefully, something good will come of it in the end.

Other than that...

What was that Clinton operative quote?

If you drag a $20 bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find...

This sums it up nicely. You can almost hear the cash register bells going off in their brains. If nothing else, this bimbo makes the first seem a tad more credible.

They got the crazy neighbor from a sitcom to make a claim. Somewhere, there's an ambulance wondering where all its chasers are. They are only hurting themselves by introducing these clowns.

Brewers scratch Chase tomorrow, will go with relievers. Counsell says Anderson will be available, just a strategic move.

One could argue they've basically been doing this for a week or two, with the exception they've just had a SP go 3-4 innings.

I've been saying for a couple years now that in the future, all games will be handled like this.Middle relievers are far cheaper than SP's, and pitchers lose effectiveness the more a hitter sees them each game. Thus far, the Rays and Brewers are the only 2 teams to do it regularly, and if you'll remember, they were the most aggressive with defensive shifts years ago.

Many teams, to be blunt, don't believe in math.

9/23/2018 07:24:00 PM

(9/23/2018 03:24:00 PM) - Al

Counsell has taken Aguilar out and moved Shaw to 1B a couple times in the past week. The thing is, I'm not sure Travis is any better defensive 1B than Jesus, except possibly on pop ups in short RF.

I almost wonder if it's just a roundabout way of getting Aguilar some time off, as Shaw sits about half the time versus LH SP. He's not as "large" as Jesus either, which as a fellow big guy, it simply takes more energy for us to carry ourselves around all day.

That's why almost all perky, energetic women are of the 110 pound variety and not 175 pounds. Think about it.

Two quick thoughts, as I hope no one is reporting me for something I didn't do 35+ years ago just because I believe in the Constitution and believe in fiscal conservatism.

1. Knebel has been, dare I say, Hader like in SEP. Not sure if he just needed to rework his mechanics or needed treatment or rest, but, at the moment, he is far more dominating than he was last season.

2. Remember at the all star break, when Hader's tweets from years ago quoting rap lyrics were made public. Remember how people were saying this would follow him around his entire career?

That was 2 months ago. I don't think he's even been booed for a month and a half.

When everything is the end of the world, nothing is the end of the world. Yawn.

It was this party, oh, 3 or 4 decades ago. And there was a Chris there, and a guy, something like Brent...I'm not real sure what I remember, but those fuzzy thoughts can become mighty clear if someone (anyone really) is wiling to cut me a check. Fed Ex delivers on Sunday. Email for specifics.

Anita Hill makes six figures or more a year from a handful of speaking engagements. The cash cow is real, if you're a terrible person willing to tell sordid tales without concern if what you're saying is true.

Gregory Peck wouldn't have won no damn Oscar for that.

This will probably be the kindest review.

Here's all you need to know. I check the movie business almost weekly, and I had no idea Moore's film was out this week. Heck, I barely knew it existed.

Also, I had no idea his 9/11 flick did so much box office. You know why?

Because W was Hitler. Don't you remember? Every Republican is Hitler, until they're dead. Then, they were damn near Jesus Christ.

Fahrenheit 11/9 is looking at $1.5M today, $4.1M for the weekend. This is the widest debut ever for a Michael Moore doc in its opening weekend.--Deadline.com

Once the lies start, they have a tendency to multiply.

Afraid to fly (never mind they offered to have her testify in CA), but she's a surfer who loves Hawaii? That's a long boat ride, though I suppose it gave her a chance to concoct tales that make her a victim and a liberal darling (hence, I repeat myself).

Ellison had to spend his entire debate explaining his ex is a lying slut, despite police reports and medical records. Dems delaying investigation until after the debate. You can't make this stuff up.

Another extension. I wish I would have had the Senate as a college instructor.

If they're going to set up a system in which baseless accusations are taken seriously and the accuser becomes famous, with opportunities to get paid for her sad life story, you're going to have a lot of baseless accusations.

Finally, the Wall Street Journal discusses what our entire justice system is based upon...which, stop me if you have heard this before, the left would throw out in a second for a minor political victory. Because the economy is good, damn it.

Heh. Yeah, it's quite a stretch

9/22/2018 12:38:00 PM

(9/22/2018 11:30:00 AM) - Al

Well said.

As always, they are doing the exact opposite of what they should. All they are doing by taking ridiculous claims like this seriously is making it tougher for real victims to be taken seriously.

In the past few months, they've come out very strongly against free speech, the 2nd Amendment, and now the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. I realize that in a week, or a month, or the next time power changes hands, they'll change their minds. That's why I do not pretend to take them seriously.

I'm not saying their belief system is out of whack. They do that themselves.

9/22/2018 11:30:00 AM

(9/22/2018 10:00:00 AM) - Al

Stearns came in with a plan, which included trading away guys he did not feel would be around when the team contended again. He has taken some grief for not keeping Davis and Gennett, but he has worked said plan each and every day.

The Crew is lucky to have him. With their success of late, expect to see Matt Arnold and other high ranking members of the braintrust poached away to slightly better positions, even if they are just title inflation creations.

(9/21/2018 10:01:00 PM) - Al

Al,

I've been waiting for you to mention this, or Instapundit or someone, but no one has. This alleged incident took place when Kavanaugh was 17. Let's just, for the sake of argument, say it did happen, and the girl had reported it right away. Wouldn't he have been charged as a minor and the record sealed? Bringing it up would have been unethical and possibly illegal, right? This is saying he would have been convicted, as from what I have heard, no actual assault took place. I'm not even sure he would have been charged. Maybe something like preventing a person from leaving the premises? With the hubbub about gender identity, I'm not sure if feeling a woman's boobs is even a crime though maybe it would've been then.

Love the blog, I'm not a Brewers fan, or as you would say, a very casual one, but enjoy the thoughts and I have learned a lot. I live and die green and gold, and often enjoy your thoughts as a non fan. You have thrown stuff out there about the Pack and I've thought, how come I never noticed that? Because I was busy thinking everyone was against us.

Keep Rambling,

Paul

Interesting observation by Paul, actually a pair of them.

Back in my retail days, a drunken customer actually was arrested for touching a female employee of mine, but I assume it was a misdemeanor, if he was charged at all. I remember asking her about it a couple months later (with my female assistant in the room) and she said she had been told she would not be needed to testify...though she did not know if that meant he had accepted a deal or if they had not charged him. I heard a couple weeks after the incident, when they called me to ask me if I had anything I wanted to say or have done (our local police are known to be proactive) that the gent was willing to undergo treatment to waive the charge, but I do not know if that happened.

He certainly would not have been waived into adult court for a non felony. Not sure about the rest, sir. Ironic mention of the gender differences in today's world too.

This fictional witch hunt could have all been avoided if only Kavanaugh had driven off a bridge while highly intoxicated and let this broad for dead because he didn't give a damn.

Not only would the Dems all vote to confirm him, he'd be a hero to them for the next 50 years.

Rewriting history is exhausting, ain't it?

On that note, have a wonderful weekend my friends. Enjoy the fantastic economy and the peace in the world. Because for 8 years, we didn't have any of that, because, well, no magic wand I guess.

Ryan Braun (ā€™11): 33 HR, 111 RBI, 109 runs, 33 SB, .332/.397/.597/.994 OPS/166 OPS+

Christian Yelich (ā€™18 ): 31 HR, 93 RBI, 102 runs, 20 SB, .317/.384/.568/.952 OPS/151 OPS +

Give Heyman credit for pointing this out. Braun had one of the best seasons I've ever witnessed, and Yelich is very close, and is better defensively, though Braun was probably above average in LF then. The difference in RBI's is easily explained by where they hit in the batting order. Hard to believe Ryan had that many more SB's.

The goal is misery because misery advances their cause. Hence, good times and positives must be ignored and lied about.

Nope.

The facts have no place here.

The poll results are from Huff Post and YouGov, 2 very far left organizations.

I'm not saying she's completely unbelievable. The public sure is though.

It might help if she could, you know, say when and where this in progress manuscript took place...

Sanctions are hurting them more than pallets of cash?

Who would have guessed?

No conflict of interest there.

Exactly what you'd expect from stuck up, arrogant private schools.

Note the complete lack of responsibility, which has accompanied them into adulthood.

If Hillary didn't exist, we'd have to invent her.

It is difficult to believe so much hypocrisy could possibly simmer in one frail, elderly woman.

The Brewers, Cardinals, and either the Rockies or Dodgers could finish with identical records. In that case, the two wild card teams would be determined like so:

The three teams are assigned Club A, Club B, and Club C designations based on a long cookbook formula that includes head-to-head records and things like that.

Club A hosts Club B. The winner is awarded a wild-card spot.

Club C hosts the loser of the Club A vs. Club B game. The winner is awarded the other wild-card spot.

The Wild Card Game is then played.--CBS Sports

It does not say who hosts the game, though I would assume it is the winner of game one. Team A gets 2 advantages, hosting game 1 and having 2 chances to win. Team B has 2 chances to win. Team C "gets to host" but only has a single opportunity.

I would have guessed they draw the team designations out of a hat.

If the Brewers, Cardinals, Dodgers, and Rockies all finish with the same record, the Dodgers and Rockies would play a Game 163 tiebreaker to determine the NL West champion.

And because Game 163 is a regular-season game, the Game 163 loser would have a worse regular season winning percentage than the Brewers and Cardinals, and thus fall out of postseason contention. The Brewers and Cardinals would be the wild card teams.--CBS Sports

I did not know this, and it seems very unfair.

These are the good old days. Some folks are just too busy wishing the streets were paved with gold to enjoy the good times.
