There will be a bidding war for Hamilton. He is one of the few players who are worth more than their numbers suggest, and he's one of them.

Actually, he'd be a lot better only if a team used him as the strong side of a platoon and as a late inning guy. Of course, to be fair, not many teams want to pay a platoon guy $6M+ either.

11/30/2018 11:00:00 AM

(11/30/2018 10:35:00 AM) - Al

Brewers have to tender arby to all eligible players tonight. We often see a lot of pre arby contracts today, as teams want to lock in a salary for players "on the bubble" that they do not want to risk losing an arby case and, in their mind, paying a player more than they feel said player is worth. Obviously, a guy like Shaw is not going to be nontendered. Knebel seems safe.

Possibilities would seem to be Perez, Jennings, Cedeno, and Saladino (and, of course, Schoop). Hernan is projected to make about $2.7M, a lot for a utility player, though he is useful with his versatility and lefty mashing. Jennings and Cedeno are tricky because neither has options, and while certainly not bad lefty relievers, may not be worth the $1.5M and lack of flexibility. At best, I would not expect both to still be on the team tomorrow. Saladino will not make much, and does have an option for 2019. His future depends on how much they like him.

There are a plethora of options at 2B/3B that will be much less costly than Schoop, and are projected to have similar numbers. They are said to be talking to teams who are interested in acquiring him, probably big market teams not likely to contend looking for a 2B and hoping for a bounce back so they can trade him at the deadline. I simply can't see the Crew paying him $10M or so.

Well, son of a...

I never knew that, and am shocked. I did not believe it and went to a French pronunciation site, and sure enough.

Also in French trivia, eau claire means "clear water." If you've ever been to Eau Claire and had to traverse around the river and lakes making nothing a straight shot, that makes a pizza guy pull his hair out, it suddenly all makes sense.

(11/29/2018 10:02:00 PM) - Al

About a dozen obvious missed penalties in tonight's Cowboys/Saints tilt, and we're not talking about a possible missed holding on an offensive lineman. Push off in the end zone by a WR, facemask with the QB running, spotting the ball a yard or two ahead on a 3rd down conversion.

These guys would have to be several times better just to be crappy.

(11/29/2018 10:00:00 PM) - Al

The Mets are about to make a terrible trade, but just signed one of the best minor league FA's on the market. I expected him to get a 40 man spot, actually.

Herrera---.293/.394, 687 OPS
Player A--.318/.397, 715 OPS

As I often do, player A is not a real player, it's the average MLB 2B in 2018. Herrera will be 25 next season and has 5 years of team controlleft. Also, about 2/3rd's of his MLB PA's are when he was rushed, when he was 20 and 21.  It's a small sample, but he's actually above average in defensive metrics as well.

Another prominent liberal accused, old media silent, as they are suddenly uninterested in the subject.

I would assume this is directly related to the fact Tyson's accuser didn't make the whole thing up, and actually has a place and a time the incident occurred.

By the way, Kavanaugh's accuser, who had nothing to gain I was told by all the most intelligent liberal hacks, is keeping the money, saying she needs it for unseen, unproven security needed for unseen, unproven death threats surfing trips and airfare to said surfing trips.

I'd point out she's a hellishly despicable human being, but the witch doesn't need my help doing that.

The problem is, he's not near the offensive player Cain is. Teams will kind of notice that.

A .323 OBP the past 3 years is not all that special for a CF, and he plays half his games in an offensive paradise.

This is completely unrelated to Mueller announcing that jaywalking charge, I'm sure. The entire thing has been a "hey look, squirrel" distraction attempt, and it's been proven. Anyone who still brings it up is a liberal hack. The idea Mueller is still out there trying to sell this charade is embarrassing to no one except Mueller.

(11/29/2018 12:14:00 PM) - Al

Schoop is not a bad player at all. But, he's not worth what he'll get in arby, given his recent production. With so many options on the 2B/3B market, throwing $10M at him seems like a poor choice.

(11/29/2018 11:30:00 AM) - Al

If only someone could have predicted signing a player over 30 to a 10 year contract worth just a few cents less than an infinite amount of money was not a shrewd financial move.

As for what this may mean for the Crew, when the dust settles, it seems likely to me Broxton and/or Santana may have a home that we did not see them fitting before.

EDIT: Added, but if the Mets give up anything of note prospect wise after taking the worst contract in the game, the new GM should be taken out back and patiently explained to that he's a complete idiot. Diaz has good value, but Cano's is way negative with that contract. The cost should be slight, just a decent guy, or a pair of them.

Hard not to read this and see the author really railing about capitalism and success.

We already do a fine job of anti monopoly stuff in the USA...last time I checked, Ma Bell is no longer our phone provider (and the costs have risen far more than inflation, but we'll discuss that another day). The companies some people discuss now and show they are ignorant of what a monopoly is (Wal Mart, Amazon, Comcast) are simply well run companies that have taken over poorly run competitors and, in some cases, actually created an industry that didn't exist 20 years ago.

MLBTR projects Brewers' payroll.

That's a very unnewsy piece, I must admit. I'm no expert on...well, anything, but I think you'd see a higher payroll increase than the $110M projected even if they just tender a few arby eligibles, and add a couple pieces, either through trade or free agency.

$23M for a 33 year old coming off an injury plagued season? That's one of those that unless you win a title, it seems outrageous. They could have filled 4-6 holes with that, or even more if you're talking about relievers or utility guys.

A wise man once said that whatever teams "wins" the bidding for a mega free agent, they end up losing.

ARI trying to trade Greinke, SEA trying to deal Cano. And in reality, they are so overpaid, they barely get half the value, unless they pay part of their salary to play elsewhere.

Everyone gets a trophy!

Except in real life. Delaying adulthood has its drawbacks.

I have pointed out many times that 100 years ago, 26 year olds were often grandparents. Now, they are on their parent's insurance, turning down $50k+ jobs because they'd have to get to the office before noon.

11/26/2018 10:30:00 AM

(11/26/2018 09:30:00 AM) - Al

When we were boys, the teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. I told her I wanted to be a professional baseball player. My best friend told her he wanted to be president of the United States. Sadly, neither of us achieved our dream.--Dwight Eisenhower

For years, I wanted to run a retail store. I achieved that when I was 29, and was miserable doing so for most of the next decade. Often, I would sit in my office and seriously contemplate just putting my keys in the safe, telling my assistant or my boss I was done, and walking out. They would send out questionnaires asking how something went, and I would answer honestly. After it was read, I would be told I had hurt someone's feelings at corporate. The same ones who had screwed up and made my job far more difficult. While I was working 60-70 hours a week, they would work 35 hours per in DEC and take the week between Xmas and New Year's off. I assume their feelings were rather pained when they declared bankruptcy too. Hey, I tried.

Now, I only answer to myself and my friends and family. Our happiness and safety is pretty much my only concern. I have spoken a couple times about a friend of mine who is going through a rough stretch and is currently incarcerated in another state. I write (only allowed to send post office postcards...I've learned to write very small, otherwise you get like 3 sentences on there) and get calls once in a while. I feel sad. I worry. 6-12 months ago, she was homeless and ended up in the hospital twice, damn near died once from sepsis. Being charged may well be the only reason she's still with us. Once in a while, she will say something that irritates the living hell out of me. Every day, I'm thankful she's alive. She has accomplished a lot in her life, and I have no doubt will achieve much more soon.

{I'll throw this in because it's what many of you are thinking. No, the Rambling wife does not mind. She is as unworried as one can imagine. I'm not sure if that's a compliment or knowing she could do far better if given a 2nd chance. I choose to think it's the former.}

Dreams may never come true. Dreams may change. What doesn't change is what you believe in.

{Soapbox now unoccupied.}

(11/26/2018 07:00:00 AM) - Al

Embarrassing post here, suggesting Shaw was a poor defensive 2B. He is probably a bit below average, as one would suspect because of his lack of range.

I don't think they'll offer Schoop arby, because he's unlikely to be worth $10M, and there's better players available on the FA and trade market. I'm still a Cesar Hernandez fan, though he now only has 2 years of team control left. I also like Daniel Murphy, though he'd probably be a better fit at 3B due to his poor metrics at 2B. In fact, he's solid at 1B and 3B...but he plays at 2B the vast majority of the time. Did Murphy have/has arm problems? He had good numbers at 3B, but has barely played there since...2015, which is a long time ago.

LaMahieu and Kinsler are both solid options as well. Both are especially solid in the aspects of the game that are overlooked, baserunning and defense.

The Rambling wife just complained it seemed dark as she worked on stuff in her corner of the room. I looked up at both that and the identical one by me, and hers looked much dimmer. I thought maybe the brighter setting on the 3 way had burned out, and all that was left was the dim one.

Nope. Apparently, when we set it up, we turned it on the dimmest and left it...we never touch the lamp, we just turn on the outlet with a light switch on the wall. She noticed now because she just returned from her folks, where they do not have very dim lighting, apparently.

Unless, of course, someone broke into our house and left all the precious jewels and state of the art electronics, and just fiddled with our lamp.

I'll have to check the security footage...but first, I'll have to install a security camera.

Um, if you kick the field goal (and make it, of course), you're 2 TD's ahead, instead of a TD and FG. 2 TD's in 4 minutes are far tougher than a FG and a TD.

Just take the points.

The irony?

The Dems spend their time and energy insisting the "Normals" are racist, uneducated rednecks...and then insist basic economics will never work, because they hate the fact that...it makes the citizens prosperous...because the left is so much more intelligent.

I read this on my phone a few days ago, but never linked it here.

Harper in MIL? Anything could happen, as pointed out, the Brewers have the payroll room, even with their upcoming arby raises. However, they have never spent anywhere near $150M on player salaries, though plenty of other teams have, even small markets. And yes, they would probably sell 3.25M tickets next year (standard industry estimates used to say the average ticket sold was worth $30-40, depending on market size, so guessing that would be worth about 200K tickets would lead to an immediate revenue jump of $6-8M for 2019).

The irony is, Harper had a 889 OPS last year...and Jesus had a 890. It's unlikely Braun would be as good a defender as Aguilar is at 1B, though you might add a few runs on the baserunning side. All that said, spending $29.5M and not projecting more wins does not seem like a Stearns like move. Of course, maybe you think Bryce's future production is far higher. Maybe you have an offer for Aguilar of a team controllable young arm with upside. CJ Cron is a similar player to Jesus, and was DFA'd (though without the OBP).

Good to see the Bucks bounce back from a horrible loss to the Suns FRI night to defeat the always tough Spurs. They rested Ersan last night on the 2nd night of back to back games, so they went without him, Henson, and DiVincenzo, all part of their regular rotation...but, there's no prize for playing shorthanded. That's why depth is important. Shannon Brown has received the most extra time, along with Maker.

Delly has played important minutes the past 2 games and seemed to provide a spark and positive +/- results in both. Last night, his mere presence was noticed on defense, as his intensity jumped out at me as I had not even noticed he was in the game.

I'm sure there may be some uses for this in marketing and maybe even using it for retail displays (maybe even law enforcement). That said, these nerds doing stuff like this that no one cares about or will ever read except those in the same realm of science is incredibly sad to me.

It's like sanding a piece of wood for 3 years, declaring it perfect...and then throwing into the furnace and grabbing another piece of wood.

Speaking of Happ, the veteran left-hander is generating a lot of buzz in free agency.  In addition to the Phillies, the Angels, Astros, and Brewers are new teams who Morosi adds to the already-lengthy list of clubs (the Blue Jays, Reds, Twins, White Sox, and Yankees) who have previously been rumored to have some level of interest in Happ’s services.  Of the newly-cited teams, Milwaukee and Houston offer Happ the best chance of competing for a World Series in 2019, while the Angels and Phillies are a few steps behind at this point of the offseason, though obviously L.A. and Philadelphia each have designs on significant roster upgrades this winter.--MLBTR

MIL has been rumored to like Happ for the past 2 seasons. At his age, I can't believe the Crew would go more than 1-2 years.

From an entire decade ago, your annual Thanksgiving links.

I have to wonder how many blogs that were far better than this one have started and ended in that time period.

Dr. Schullman's Thanksgiving story. By far the most requested link in Ramblings' history, someone e-mails for this several times a year.

Bobby Warns' tribute video...we should all be very thankful that we have a military full of men and women who are willing to take on evil and kill or be killed. Regardless of how many times I link to it (it's on the sidebar too, mind you), someone always writes to say they watched it for the first time and how well it is done.

Ben Stein wrote this nearly 5 years ago, and it's just as true today, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, a true American holiday.

EDIT: Warns' link fixed, sorry.

Record number of people traveling for Thanksgiving this year. Good economies do that.

I still recall a few years ago when travel was down due to the socialist policy and economic malaise that 96 months of "taxes and regulation are good, you stupid rubes" Obamanomics had, there was a story I linked to that discussed that travel was down due to "the minimalism and happiness with what we have," or some similar load of bunk.

I'm shocked to see the deer harvest up in WI, as I have seen next to no deer along the road of late. Maybe they are just quicker to remove them, I dunno. Hunters down a bit too. Perhaps, folks are just hunting more because they're able to afford to. I was talking to a fella this week who said he had taken the whole week off (in his job, really only 3 days) and was hunting all 9 days for the first time since he was in 8th grade...he was not even able to in high school because of sports practices. This year, he just told his employer he was taking off...no push back at all. Why? They're afraid to lose him. Said his company announced health insurance premiums were rising 8%...but employee cost would remain the same. Companies fighting to hang onto good people do things like that.

The old way? The government forcing them. The new way? Unemployment basically at 0%, as there's always some people that are unemployable due to health, mental or physical problems, or alcohol/drug abuse. Capitalism not only works, it works far better than anything else. The results speak for themselves.

I had to mail a couple things, so I went down to the post office. The streets are almost like a SUN morning, or a ghost town, all but empty. However, restaurant and grocery store parking lots are just packed.

I have joked (but it's true) for years no matter how long a weekend is, people will take a personal or vacation day to make it longer. Very few people except service workers are working FRI, and it would appear today as well.

No late word on anymore additions, so I will assume Olczak will remain on a minor league contract and Rule 5 eligible. From what I hear, his out pitch is his breaking ball, so here's hoping he is not taken, as he "only" throws in the low 90's.

Dodgers DFA Goeddel, who had an outstanding 2018, and has stellar K numbers throughout his entire career. He also is equally good versus RH and LH hitters.

That's the guy I can see Stearns adding, though he is eligible for arby.

Locastro is interesting as well, as he's played all over the field, gets on base at a good clip, and steals bases at a 90% clip.

(11/20/2018 06:51:00 PM) - Al

Spangenberg and Cordoba are both interesting names...Cory is a very capable LH 2B/3B/LF/RF, with a career 750+ OPS versus RHP, and a 600ish OPS versus LHP...very much a platoon guy, but not helpless versus southpaws either.

Cordoba was my top Rule 5 pick after the 2016 season, and is still just 23 next year. Looks like he was injured and predictably struggled in A+ ball last season. He would still have 2 options left, and I would at least look to steal him now and try to sneak him through waivers later.

If I were ever to make a list of my favorite words, "unpossible" would be near the top. True statement though.

As Billy Shakespeare said, why be limited to words that actually exist? Years ago, I stopped using hyphens in words such as short term, because, well, it's stupid. I also do not capitalize words like "heimlich" maneuver just because it was originally a name before it became a word. That's not just stupid, it's absurd.

If the rubes are waiting in line for scraps, that leaves them more dependent on the government for all their needs.

See how it works? The lower the standard of living, the lower the expectations. That makes it easier to convince the peasants how fortunate they are their holiday basket contained gruel and vegetable broth this year.

Fultz has appeared injured since the moment he arrived in the NBA.

While it is possible he attempted to change his form and now his muscle memory is so goofed up he sometimes struggles to not shoot like a wounded penguin, the simplest solution is almost always the correct one.

Sign those aging veterans they said. They'll be great only playing 20-25 minutes a game they said.

The Kings are about the only team with the cap space to take those contracts on, so if they choose to, they might well get to add young players and/or draft picks if they choose to acquire Anthony or Smith (and would probably just buy them out or release them all but immediately.

Almost every team in MLB will make a few moves today as Rule 5 prep is necessary. Along with that, and related to it, many players will become free agents as they are, in effect, DFA'd or released early to make room for more players that have to be protected.

For example, the Brewers have 37 players on the 40 man roster (I think). I predicted they would add 3, but let's say they decide to add 4...they will simply take players they do not wish to tender a contract for 2018 off before the deadline (which I believe is NOV30) off the 40. Jonathon Schoop is one of the players on the bubble, depending on what else the club decides to do with Pina, Kratz, Jennings, Cedeno, Saladino, and possibly even Perez, as his salary will be around $3M next season, high for a reserve.

MLBTR have no FA's in the top 10 going to the Crew, but they came in 2nd for Eovaldi and 4th for Corbin, Happ, and Keuchel.

Being a contrarian, I had them signing Grandal (and Kelvin Herrera). I discussed this once before, as Yasmani is known to be an excellent pitch framer and solid defender, but had a rough postseason. If they feel this was a small sample, they will go after him. If they feel he is a crappy defender, they will not.

BUMP/UPDATE: I see some folks are saying Carlos Herrera will be added to the 40 because he throws hard. He also had a 5.46 ERA in Appleton last year. And a K/BB ratio  barely over 1. And he'll only be 21. I doubt it.

Possible additions to the 40 man
Trey Supak--23 next season. Main cog in the Jason Rogers trade (Broxton was the throw in), former 2nd round pick of Pirates. MLB.com ranks him 13th in system, split season between high A and AA; 8-7, 2.48 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 0.4 HR/9, 8 K/9, 2.80 K/BB. In my mind, he's probably the only sure add. Prediction: YES.

Jon Olczak--25 next season. Former 11th round pick of Crew, went 10-3, 1.39 ERA almost entirely in AA, all in relief. Followed that up with a 1.50 ERA in the Arizona Fall League. 0.98 WHIP, 0.2 HR/9 (only allowed 1 HR while facing 230 batters), 9.7 K/9, 3.3-1 K/BB. Sub .200 BAA versus both LH and RH hitters. Only gave up more than a single earned run once all of 2018. MLB.com does not have him ranked in the top 30 prospects, probably due to his advanced age. Still, one cannot ignore video game type stats. He's a 2 pitch guy and solely a reliever, so his ceiling is not that high. Still, if not protected, he seems certain to be taken, something you cannot say about anyone else in the organization other than Supak. Prediction: YES

Troy Stokes--23 next season. Former 4th round pick by the previous regime. Spent 2018 in AA, .343/.430, with 19 steals in 21 tries. Ranked 15th best prospect in system by MLB.com. Won minor league Gold Glove for defensive work last year. Why is this a question? Well, he's only 5-8. He has a below average throwing arm, and while he can play all 3 OF spots, has played LF 85% of the time in the minors (though playing on the same team as Corey Ray has upped that number). BA of only .233 LY, only .251 in 2017. Walks a lot, but strikes out often as well, 27% of his PA's last year. Finally, Tyrone Taylor was already added to the 40, and Corey Ray, while he does not have to be protected from the Rule 5 due to his lack of pro experience, obviously ranks above Stokes as a prospect. He's a borderline guy, and under Stearns, they rarely are protected. Still, one number jumps out at me...44%. In 2018, 44% of his hits were for extra bases, and 38% in his career. Doubles often turn into homers as players develop and add muscle. I would not be surprised if he's not, but I'm guessing he is. Prediction: YES.

Bubba Derby--25 next season. Former 6th round pick of the A's, acquired with Nottingham in Khris Davis swap. 4.49 ERA in Colorado Springs, which, as with the rest of the western PCL, is an offensive environment. Derby will almost certainly have a major league career, but it's tough to get excited about him. Kind of a blah guy, seems to me there are many minor league FA's of similar talent. That said, only 25, so he may turn into something more. I have him as a slight miss. Prediction: NO

Jake Gatewood--23 next season. Former 1st round pick of the Crew. Ranked 10th by MLB.com. Prodigious power, but after bouncing all over the field on defense, seems to have settled in at 1B (though projects to have the athletic ability to be a 1B/LF/RF in the majors). .302/.466 in tough to hit Southern League. Only 28 walks to go along with 114 K's. To me, he just makes too many outs. Prediction: NO

Cody Ponce--25 next season. Former 2nd round pick of the Crew. 7-6, 4.36 ERA in AA. Fastball, cutter, curve all are projectable to the majors. I think he'll eventually be a solid reliever. Just not enough upside and success yet to add to the 40. Prediction: NO

Devin Williams--24 next season. Former 1st round pick of Crew. Missed all of 2017 due to injury. Throws hard, but no success since 2016, when he was decent in high A. Prediction: NO

Nate Griep--25 next season. Former 8th round pick of the Crew. Good AA reliever, 2 30+ saves seasons in minors. Walks too many, mediocre versus LH bats. Prediction: NO

Nate Orf--29 next season. Undrafted FA. Lost his luster to many after 25 mediocre big league PA's, but he can still hit, run, and defend 7 positions. His ceiling may be that of a utility guy, but that's what we have thought he was for years. He could have been had for a 40 man spot last SEP and went unclaimed, so it's doubtful anyone will take him and have to keep him on the 25 man all season, especially with his advanced age. I think he'll have a nice career though. Prediction: NO.

Conner Harber--25 next season. Drafted in 16th round by Crew. 2.54 ERA, but mostly in high A ball. Too many walks too. Similar to Griep actually. Prediction: NO.

Quintin Torres Costa, a lefty reliever who may have been added for SEP, had a very nice season in AA/AAA, but had to have Tommy John surgery afterwards. I assume he will go unprotected and undrafted, as a team would have to pay him a major league salary to sit on the DL and then keep him up all of 2020.

Rosenthal says Moustakas' best fit would be with the Brewers on the MLBN.

One of the most underrated aspects of the team Stearns built was the defense and the baserunning. MM is not a speed demon, but he is not a plodder either, like Aguilar and whoever catches.

Another interesting aspect is that the Crew will only bring in one infielder, and that includes Schoop, who will get about $10M if offered arby. Shaw's ability to play 2B or 3B allows them to look for the best fit at either spot.

The GOP's failure to embrace President Trump's unapologetic fiscal conservatism and successful economic blueprint is probably why they do not have 55-58 Senate seats next year.

In the AZ aftermath, one need not look past how unpopular their incumbents were when one wonders why so many Republicans stayed home. If you had bothered to show up and vote and your senators were Jeff Flake and John McCain, seemingly going out of their way to keep progress from happening every day in DC, it's an easy call to stay home.

Gent in PA has a livestream on You Tube right now. Said he just came from a farm sale, in which a farmer sold his entire herd of about 110 cows. Said the top price was $1500, but that very good cows sold for $1k and very passable, solid cows sold for $500-600. I believe he said a few went for $300-400.

He said if you're a farmer looking to get out, wait until spring. He said he was almost getting emotional about the terrible prices the farmer received.

He made a point I had never heard said before. In talking to others at the sale, it was pointed out that if you go into a bank and say you want money to start a 100 cow herd, you'll get laughed at and escorted out. However, if you say you want to start a 1000 cow herd, good chance you'll leave with all the money you need.

Apparently, volume is king.

Morosi also notes within that column that the Brewers are exploring the market for rotation help and have shown some preliminary interest in righty Anibal Sanchez. The 34-year-old parlayed a minor league deal with the Braves into an absolutely brilliant rebound campaign that landed him 28th on MLBTR’s Top 50 Free Agent rankings. Beyond a 2.83 ERA with 8.9 K/9, 2.8 BB/9, 0.99 HR/9 and a 45 percent ground-ball rate in 134 1/3 innings, Sanchez also allowed the least hard contact of any pitcher in the game, per Statcast.--MLBTR

We all know that Stearns is a firm believer in preventing hard contact in pitchers and picking up high velocity hitters. That's why Yelich is in MIL.

Stearns is also a believer in finding bargains, and has no trouble with guys that do not throw hard. That is one reason Chacin ended up in MIL.

Not only did the SUV do nothing to assist the police officer getting shot at, he then backed his vehicle around a blind corner.

One has to wonder if the driver was Brenda Snipes...

Seems to me that 2 minutes might have easily been made up by not standing in front of the cameras and telling everyone how dumb they are while you attempt, without success, to count ballots from 9 freaking days ago before a hard deadline expires.

This may well be the stupidest person on the planet.

Tucker Max used to be hilarious.

Now, he's just a rich white dude with nothing better to do than take esctasy and insist it works great, even though it has failed like every other thing he's tried.

I wonder, if possible, he's ever just considered that there's nothing wrong with him? As we talk about often here, back when no one knew where their next meal was coming from, everyone just got up and went out, looked for nuts and berries, and hoped some animal dropped dead in front of them so they could eat that day.

Now, spoiled fellas with nothing better to do insist that...wait for it...they are incredibly special and need special attention.

Why are the Dems so full of hate?

I am not an expert on the subject, but I assume it's directly related to giving people that hate Jews prominent positions in the party because it's easier to look the other way than do something about it.

It's also not a shock that miserable people want everyone to be as miserable as they are.

$700M to rebels, billions in cash on pallets to Iran; pretty soon, you're talking about real money.

Deet. Lots of deet. Then, use more deet.

I'm reminded that 10-20 years ago, the cool kids insisted deet was some evil chemical that caused cancer, birth defects, and...even worse, was said to make some bad people yearn for small government and fiscal responsibility.

I was told the science was settled.

Avenatti has been accused of a terrible act, but as one that believes in due process, let's not be hasty about insisting he's guilty.

However, I do seem to recall an admitted sexual molester saying "It doesn't matter if he's guilty or not."

So, there you go.

Funny how things work out. I seem to recall someone pointing out how poorly the left chooses their heroes. Game, set, and match. Every one of the accusers and their lawyers have been shown to be liars and money hungry harlots.

Kavanaugh? He's on the Supreme Court, and spending time with his beautiful family.

Somewhere, Keith Ellison is laughing and saying, "What an amateur. But, I'm sure she deserved it. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go charge me some Jews."

The Nationals are hoping that a hearing later this week will represent a major step toward the resolution of their longstanding dispute with the Orioles over television rights fees, as Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports. A three-person panel consisting of Brewers owner Mark Attanasio, Mariners CEO Kevin Mather, and Blue Jays CEO Mark Shapiro will hear the case.--MLBTR

Downside of being a MLB owner...you get asked to take part in hellishly boring stuff like this.

I think I hit a nerve with my hatred of The Dixie Chicks. One gent pointed out they have not had a top 20 single since...2002, despite several releases (actually, none have hit the top 35, not even on the country chart). Another pointed out they only reappear to "put a toe in the water" and then disappear again when they find out they're still despised.

I admit, the funniest part is they have not even been embraced by the left, who happily supported unabashed criminals and thugs in Occupy and now Antifa.

Perhaps the funniest thing is, if you'll recall, they got into a feud with noted proud American and frequent USO performer Toby Keith (not to self...if you google Dixie Chicks and USO, one does not find a single performance...selfish is as selfish does, despite plenty of time on their hands)...I wonder how that turned out? Hint, scroll to #1.

That's a shame.

The idea of just sitting there and taking it is exactly what the Dems count on.

Why run if you're not going to fight for what was, to be blunt, very likely stolen by terrible people. In FL, they're not even covering their tracks, as they admit to breaking the rules on several occasions, as if to say, "What you gonna do about it, white boy?" Being afraid of being called racist for pointing out black people flaunting the law is exactly what they're counting on.

Reminds me of John McCain and Mitt Romney.

They call it losing gracefully. History refers to it as losing.

Liz Cheney seems to have the right idea. Fight like a girl. That old saying that "Republicans are too civil for a Civil War"...well, the hell with them.

Unless she has a recording, she just guaranteed herself she'll never work in management or baseball again.

To be truthful, I heard of lots of sexist things said back when I worked for a toy store that's now out of business. I've never mentioned any specifics, because it accomplishes nothing. To me, it speaks worse of the accuser.

I saw Trumpy Bear advertised last Xmas on Outnumbered, methinks. I have to agree, it's far superior to a Che Guevara Tshirt, which just shows the wearer's ignorance of history.

I'd love to be at a Xmas celebration in which this was a sought after gift. I know the Rambling wife's uncle that reads Ramblings would too. Being surrounded by patriotic Americans who believe government should be fiscally responsible would be a fine thing.

It's not just California, by the way. All the western states have ignored basic management practices because...they think more trees is better.

After voting to kill it, he voted to save it...because the president agreed with him.

The Dems refused to support the "right to try" bill after supporting it for years, because President Trump pushed for it, and eventually signed it into law.

Because politics is far more important than allowing the terminally ill to save their life. It's easy to change your mind when you really don't believe in anything.

I posted this yesterday, but since today is the official post office holiday, I'll link to it here.

Someone in the comments said the patriotic guitar solo was Ted Nugent, which makes perfect sense.

The most likely possible Yelich like trade the Crew could make?

A package headlined by Hiura to the Royals for Whit Merrifield. Merrifield was slow to develop, and will be 30 next April, with 4 years of team control remaining.

I would assume it would take Hiura, another top prospect, and 2 other solid prospects, though given the Royals' place in the success cycle, they could be low level guys. Just to throw out an example package...Hiura, Gray, Houser, and Jarvis would make sense for both teams.

Recently, the Rambling wife's grandpa passed away. The Rambling son did not want to miss school and curling practice, so he and I stayed home while the Rambling wife left TUE and came home THU to give her knee most rest time between long drives when it stiffens up.

The Rambling son was literally giggly with excitement that he could pull his car into the garage while she was gone so he did not have to scrape it off in the mornings. Other than that, I don't think he even noticed she was gone.

I, of course, could barely sleep, without her ever present knee in my groin.

If she was a conservative, she might not get away with blatantly ignoring the law.

If you doubt that, Hillary Clinton destroyed her hard drive with a hammer in which she had illegally downloaded confidential emails to from her illegal email account...and the FBI typed up excuses why they were not going to charge her before they even interviewed her.

None of those facts in the above paragraph are even argued. Instead, it's met with a shrug, followed by an under the breath muttering of, "Don't the rubes know she's a Democrat?"

Moore had a nice year in AAA with the Crew last year, though, half his games were at altitude. Tough for a minor leaguer to turn down a major league offer.

Being reported as Berry is joining the major league coaching staff...to me, "coordinator" is usually a term used for a guy who works with minor leaguers, but not just a specific team. Time will tell.

While the Dems have tried for 2 years to make up some dirt on the president, they openly cheer on cheating and "hey look, we found another pile of almost entirely lefty ballots" by someone who has not only done it before, but is now, without hesitation, ignoring a court order to stop.

They're not all terrible people. But they sure seem to have no problem accepting there are terrible people in their midst and looking the other way.

2. Know you should tip but decide not to because you are incredibly cheap.

I tip the person when they bring out my "order online" order from McDonald's to the designated parking spot. Why? See #2.

I doubt the Bills would do anything but run the ball every down. Bama is very fast, but most players would be pushed around like boys fighting men...which is a rather apt description. Wouldn't surprise me if Bama would score some points though.

Good to hear.

Now, she can go back to falling asleep at work...like she has for years.

Simply shocking watching the Bucks not just defeat the Warriors by 20+, but dominate them so badly that when the Warriors "cut" the lead to 19, the crowd was the loudest they had been all night.

Giannis was taken out of the game with about 3 minutes left in the 3rd and never returned. With about 7 minutes left in the game, both teams removed their starters and garbage time officially began.

To make this clear, the game was in Oakland.

Heh.

They used to make fun of Rasmussen for being so pro Trump. Turns out, the others were just artificially holding down the numbers by talking to a 70/30 lefty heavy split.

At some point, someone is going to notice Obama never told the truth and was wrong every single time he opened his mouth.

As a leggy small town woman said, "Drill, baby, drill."

Supply and demand is a helluva drug.

The irony? The left still insists it's just a crazy rumor. And, fire is just a fad.

I'm old enough to recall Al "Hands" Franken being behind on election night, only to have some crooked clerk "find" ballots for him "in a drawer" the next day.

They're still doing it.

They should simply throw out all ballots counted after the 30 minute after the election mark. The fact they keep "finding" more reeks of fraud.

I'm not sure how many times I have to point this out, but nobody hates illegal immigration more than those who have become citizens legally, often waiting patiently for a decade in a hellhole while paperwork and the like get ironed out.

The funny thing is, the old media still hasn't figured this out, and is shocked...shocked it happens every election.

Why?

I assume it's because if those white women had a son, they'd look a lot like Brett Kavanaugh.

They choose their battles badly. That's a shame.

How do they keep finding thousands of ballots in FL?

It's a mystery that may never be solved.

As long you allow them to bypass the rules...they're going to bypass the rules. Notice which party always seems to gain votes...just a coincidence, of course.

What more proof do you need?

These are the good old days. Some folks are just too busy wishing the streets were paved with gold to enjoy the good times.
